Tried Brussels VT transportation tips.
This is awful! This new navigation is no navigation, one can spend half an hour without finding any info.
I can see now why people go directly to the forum without taking the trouble to read travel guides - it's just impossible, with the best of intentions!

My new page in Stanmore it shows that is Nowheresville. Can you please take a look at it for me.

I asked VT to create a new accommodation for Semur-en-Auxois, namely the campground "Lac de Pont". I got a confirmation email on October 27 that the place was added, but when I try to write my tip now, VT doesn't know the accommodation. What do I do wrong? How can I write my tip without asking to add the place another time (which, I suppose, would create chaos in the database)?

In English or local name? For instance Sardinia is Sardegna (local only) in the VT search, but Venezia is Venice.
I think VT should enable both options when they're commonly used. At least when the local language is written in the Latin alphabet.

I got stuck with this in VT years ago with place names in Greece, then I saw on my Greek map that was written in English font, that the Greeks themselves weren't consistent.

I'm still travelling around Greece, we have wifi every hotel and I write my hotel review, I don't know what I' m done wrong why is my review is double posted? such as my hotel tip in Kastraki. Thank you for clarifying me this :)

Why am I suddenly getting notices about questions posted on the Hong Kong forum from years back? I've had around 20 this morning. All of these are well out of date.

How do I stop this happening?

I have signed up for Travel Forum notices from Europe. Suddenly (today), I'm getting notices from Egypt, South America, Asia . . . all sorts of places. I probably should know how to stop this but I don't. HELP.

I was trying to write a restaurant tip and I keep on getting "Invalid Data". How do I fix this?

I clicked on your link re: hotels and posted there. Seemed simple, but sometimes things only appear simple.
As for how the problem is addressed, I heard from someone named Barbara about the Airbnb tip and after a few exchanges she said I could do the tip. When I tried, it takes me to Airbnb as if I were going to book. I gave up.
With my friend, Sally - Beausoleil - she complained and asked for a grouping of "Gites of France". No, that can't be done. You must go through the exercise for each place. It's cumbersome and time consuming. Discourages entering anything other than the big hotel chains.

Every time a new VT Spotlight page is posted announcing the monthly featured picks such as the one in the last several days, I receive more than 2 dozen entries/notices of it in my notices page. Does anyone else have the same problem and if so do you know what may be causing it and how can it be fixed? Maybe I should just notify the staff. If this question or similar one has already been posted, sorry for the duplicate.

I have uploaded 70 photos to the Big Sydney Meet page recently , all can be seen successfully uploaded. When I return to the said meeting page, only 1-50 photos can be seen by others.
My question : Should I delete some of the 79 photos to less than 50 to allow other members to upload/share theirs photos ?

Hello, added some travel pages on my computer. When I try to add picturesthrough the edit feature to these same, new pages from my android phone, I can find NO button that saves these updates. Frustrating!

Being a language teacher, I couldn't help but notice that tip group titles are now automatically changed to a system where every word is capitalized. I know that this is common in book titles and newspaper headlines, but even there the rule is that articles and prepositions as well as other function words are NOT capitalized. It might just be me, but I think it looks stupid to have them capitalized. Any opinions from anybody else?

As stupid as this question might sound at first sight, I have experienced something while tip grouping my Angkor tips that made me wonder.
For me, as for many other VTers, the page views are an enormously important feedback system about our pages. Not everybody likes to rank pages or comment on them, but if I see that my numbers are going up regularly I'm fine with that and see that my efforts are worthwhile.
Now, however, I started tip grouping my Angkor tips and saw to my dismay that tips were automatically moved to a new location (Angkor Thum), i.e. a new location was created for them. As much as I'm into correct "locationing", I don't want to have the work of many months moved automatically to a location that I haven't got on my travel pages. In case of Angkor, pretty much everybody knows it under the name "Angkor Wat", even if this is only one of many temples. "Angkor Thum" is an ancient city that makes up parts of the Angkor temple complex and imho doesn't serve as such a good guidance as hardly anybody knows it.
Furthermore, and now I'm coming back to my main question, I don't want to lose my page views if my tips are automatically moved to a new location. First of all, I suppose that this means they don't count under Angkor Wat anymore, so I lose page views there, second, it will take a long time getting the page views again for the new page, third, not liking this automatic moving, I'm now manually moving everything back to Angkor Wat and will probably lose page views yet another time.
Could VT staff please clarify if I and many other VTers will lose page views for that or not? If that were the case, I won't want to edit my tips at all!

Since a couple of days I am uploading my Tbilisi (Georgia) page. Today i saw that someone had added a website and a phone number of a private tour operator to a tip category of one of my "Things to do tips".

I am speaking about this tip:
"Anchiskhati Basilica Of St Mary" - Anchiskhati Basilica of St Mary Tip by HORSCHECK

I have neither added the website privatedailytoursingeorgia.w... nor the phone number 599988815
to the tip category. They actually don't refer to the church but are about a local tour operator. The phone number is totally useless as it doesn't include the country code.

I am actually not too happy about this, as these advertisements are clearly placed in my tip and actually don't really refer to the church, but are about a general tour operator in Georgia. How did this happen and is this the way VT supports advertisements in my tips?

Hi Guys!

With the new system, all tips must belong to a tip group. This is a great thing, because these tip group keywords are what bring users to your pages.  

As member Leics has so eloquently stated. Think of it this way.

VT is a library.

Each location has its own book in that library.

Each tip category is a chapter in the book.

Each tip group is a separate section within the relevant chapter.

Individual tips just form the content within each tip group section of any one chapter.

If you are looking for info in a book you check the chapter and any individual sections first, before reading any of the text. That's what google does. It checks the VT 'chapter headings' ('Things to Do', 'Warnings & Dangers' etc) and the 'section titles' ('Colosseo- Colosseum', 'Basilica San Pietro', 'Gelato', 'Pickpockets' etc etc).

The post here should be replies if:

• You need help/advice on creating a tip group for a particular location
• You have a tip and need advice on the tip group name to give it
• You're having trouble adding, creating, editing a tip group name
• A tip group name is spelled incorrectly, needs a new address, etc

Staff and volunteer tip groupers (members) will be watching this forum post so that we can all help get tip groups added.

Saturday, five days ago I wanted to do a Hotel tip on the Comfort Inn & Suites in Sayre Pennsylvania. Since it was not on your list I had to send you a request and I was supposed to hear by e-mail 24 to 48 hours when that happened. So far nothing and I would like to get this tip done.Thanks
