  • Are LGBT people socially acceptable in Venezuela?

    Venezuela Aug 17, 2016 at 6:36 AM

I have a question. How do Venezuelans see LGBT people in their country? Do they (in general) accept and respect them or condemn them? I know that wherever I go I can meet some intolerant people, but I would like to know what is majority in Venezuela?
If they see two boys/two girls kissing or transsexual in the street how do they treat it?
I will be very thankful for all answers.
    It's very important for me.

    Yellow Fever Certificate

    Venezuela Aug 5, 2014 at 3:04 AM

I have been advised that I might need to produce a Yellow Fever Certificate in order to gain entry into Venezuela.
I have been to seek more information on this from my GP and I Have been advised that this is not a requirement for the places I will be visiting. (Valencia, in Carabobo State)
Other sources have advised me that a certificate might still need to be produced upon entry into Venezuela.
Can anyone please confirm if this is the case, as all other websites and information gained informs me that it is not required.

Thanks for any help that can be given.

    Margarita Aug 1, 2014 at 1:21 PM

HELLO. my best friend is from Venezuela. she knows her country well. with all the crime and all. we would like to go to Margarita Island for a few days. How safe? I like casinos how far from the hotel area? how far is the nearest airpost and which one is it? I will be staying alone at one of the hotels. she is staying with family. so, again. i hear it is a wonderful island with hardly any crime? could you please answer my questions. oh, and what airlines goes there and the name of the airlines and airport. we're use to going to Caracass. but i hear this is way in a different direction.

    Many thanks
I only speak english very little spanish
    she is bi-lingual

Is it true that if you don't speak english the people in the hotel districts get an attitude with Americans. I was there in caracass several years ago and people were very nice. but we did have to be very careful.

    Ok. Here we go.
I live in the U.S. and I would like very much to go to Barcelona, Venezuela, to visit my girlfriend. She owns her own business and house there and lives in a good neighborhood. She is afraid for me to travel to Venezuela (period) because of the political unrest but wants to see me. As for me I'm not afraid and thanks bahiana77 but I'm not a wealthy person but instead rich in love.
Yes, Gili_S this country of mine could explode into chaos any day and it's like watching the the toilet flush round n round but I have one thing in my arsenal that keeps me sane and that would be FAITH. My guns keep me safe!

But enough with U.S. problems. There is a heart over here beating heavily for another heart over there that feels the same.
How safe is Barcelona and do the Venezuelan people resent Americans? And Thank You gwened for your answers too.
BTW where is everyone located and are you enjoying yourselves. I wish you all happiness in your travels.
    Thanks again,

Angel Falls inflatable kayak trip, anyone interested?

    Venezuela Jun 5, 2014 at 2:57 PM

Hello everyone, just trying to put together a group of people to come paddle inflatable kayaks from Kamarata village to Angle falls. I've done this trip several times as a tour guide using big dugout canoes with outboard motors and have always wanted to do it using kayaks. I was introduced to this route by a foreign tour company that hired me a while back to guide 15 to 20 people through this incredible journey that ends in canaima. this is not a difficult trip but please join only if you are comfortable paddling all day for several days, have done kayak-fishing, portaging and enjoy a lot of camping/outdoor cooking. please send message for full details, thanks

Santa Elena de Uairén Jan 11, 2014 at 10:12 PM

Muchisimas gracias, ZC
