Can I park a car at Triberg Rail Station for the day,so that I can travel to Zurich by rail?
I am traveling through the Black Forest in July and will be staying a night in Triberg. Is the train station central in Triberg or should I be prepared to walk a lengthy distance to central hotels?
I like to travel from Heidelberg through Black Forest to see Triberg Waterfalls, stop over there for 1 hour at the waterfalls. Then move to Switzerland to see Rhine Falls. I like to avail a day time train for the whole journey. Can you get me information about this train and whether I can make a break at Triberg falls by purchasing a through ticket from Heidelberg to Schloss Laufen or Schaffhausen (Rhine Falls). I shall be much obliged if anybody can get me the suggestion.
1) Does anyone have any idea how to get to the cuckoo clock at Uhrenpark? (E.g. Bus? From where? How frequent? How long is the journey?)
2) How much time should I spend in Triberg? The only attractions I'm keen on seeing are the Triberg Waterfalls, Biggest Cuckoo Clock in Uhrenpark, and Cafe Schafer (for the cake).
I am now deciding between doing the following, and if anyone can advise me on which is better, please do:
Arrive in Triberg at around 12 noon and catch the train out by 5 or 6pm
Arrive in Triberg at around 12 noon, spend the night there, and leave in the morning or afternoon of the next day.
Which do you think is better?
I'm travelling by train from Stuttgart to Triberg Bahnhof (Triberg train station) soon.
I would like to see the following attractions in Triberg:
1) World's largest cuckoo clock
2) Triberg Waterfall
3) Black Forest Museum (Schwarzwaldmuseum)
4) House of 1000 Clocks
Can anyone tell me how to get to these places from the Triberg Bahnhof? Are there any buses to take? Or should I walk?
I checked the map and walking is about 1.4 km from the Bahnhof.
What kind of public transport does Triberg have by the way? Are there buses you can take from one place to another, or is everything within walking distance?
Also, where exactly is the "world's largest cuckoo clock"? I googled, but there seem to be a few! (Even one in the USA!)
I want to see the Falls in Triberg but I read in a travel book that it takes ONE HOUR to get there on foot.
Is that correct? I don't think I want to walk 2 hrs to see the FAlls, no matter how magnificent they are. I hope this is an error.
I'm looking for help with train travel. I've looked at about a million sites and I'm just so confused :s
I know I might be too early to actualy book but the info will come in handy soon enough. What I need is what company I should book with and which stop I book from.
I'm traveling from Triberg to Oberselel on August 5th. In Triberg I'm staying at the Best Western Hotel Schwarzeald Residenz, Burgermeister-De-Pellegrini-Strasse 20, and in Oberwesel at Auf Schonburg (Castle Hotel).
Thanks for the help!
We were planning to see the waterfalls this weekend but read someone's tip that it only opens during April to Oct. Is it true??
What are other interesting things to see in town?
