It is many years since i have spent time in Singapore, usually passing through very quickly,. At the end of July we will be arriving at 4.50 pm and departing at 2.20 am, 9 hrs later. I figure this will give us from 6.30 pm to 11.30 pm to explore a little and enjoy a meal. Considering nearby stations that serve the airport, the attractions to see in the evening would it be better to spend our time wandering around Little India or Chinatown. We are not interested in modern buildings but prefer to see older parts of the city. Which area would you recommend and why?

I am considering one of two self guided walks. Any comments?
