Where to have Christmas Eve dinner?

      Quebec Nov 15, 2016 at 3:52 AM

Hi. I will spend Christmas in Quebec this year (so excited!) I am just wondering where is a good restaurant to have Christmas Eve dinner? Most of the restaurants are closed and one of the nice restaurant I saw (Panache) only accept reservation from their hotel guests for Christmas Eve. Is there any other restaurants you can recommend? Also, if we don't make a reservation, can we likely find a restaurant that is open on Christmas Eve on that day? Thanks in advance!

We need to know whether any special permissions needed to travel deep into the jungle. Can somebody suggest me some good places to camp there for 5 or 6 days?

Is it allowed to skinny dip in any provinces of Canada?

      Canada Dec 3, 2016 at 3:50 AM

Hi, I and my sweetheart are on a vacation to Canada. We are staying in Toronto, with our hometown friends who are here for higher studies. I asked them if they knew if it's okay to swim undressed in pools or lakes. They don't know about it. My girlfriend wants to take a nude dip in the cold water with me and is it okay to do that in Canada? My friend knows a place which is secluded, so, hopefully, nobody would see us. LOL

    • Picking a large Canadian city to move to. Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton?

      Canada Nov 13, 2016 at 11:05 AM

Hey guys, so I'm considering moving to the big city for school to experience it. I live close to Calgary, about 4 hours away so that's what it's looking like. But at the same time I want to go either further west or further east to experience a different part of Canada.

To be honest, I've heard realllly bad things about Toronto from the family that I do have who've lived there. They say there's way too many people, the people there are very rude, it's dirty, it's just all around a crappy place to live. I want to be in a big city, and if I am going down east it's most likely going to be to Toronto. Online it looks good, it's multicultural, it has lots to do, etc. Which is what I want. But from the people I know who actually have experience living there, they hated it.

Vancouver is not even really in the question either. It's simply way too expensive for me. As a student, I can't afford on a part time job to pay $1000 a month minimum just on rent. That's crazy to me, and unrealistic. But I do have family there who love it. (Extremely wealthy family so they actually are able to be there comfortably.) Everybody seems to love it there, though.

I'm from Alberta and have been to Calgary tons because 99% of my family live there and I really like it there. It's big, the people are nice, and it's a little more affordable than Toronto/Vancouver. The only reason I'm hesitant to move there is because I've already been there soooo many times before. I want to go somewhere new and experience different things.

Don't know anything about Edmonton. I've heard it's just like Calgary but colder.

      Any ideas? Thanks guys.

was hoping you could give me a few pointers. My family of 7(age from 2 to 90) will be visiting Sakatoon for a couple of days in oct(around 12th or 14th). Can you recommend a few places to visit ? especially any advice on scenic drives to see the fall colours etc. or even nice tourism sites.
unfortunately only there for 3 days(we are doing an 8 day tour of saskatoon, regina and winnipeg in that order).
thank you for your help in advance.

      Cheaper accommodations - Inns

by olivepip Online Now Feb 10, 2010 at 9:30 PM

      v's larger hotels.

Anyone know about Confederation Inn, or The Westgate Inn? Both along 22nd St W & Circle Drive W
They're definately a lot cheaper than hotels like, say, Days Inn or Country Inn & Suites.
But is it worth it? I wouldn't be spending a lot of time there & extra comforts (found in more expensive hotels) aren't a priority. But then I don't want to stay in a dive either!
I just want a comfy bed, a clean room, hot water and a feeling of safety.
I'll have a car too, so distance to things won't be a problem.

So just wondering if anyone knows of & can give an opinion on these two places.

      Much appreciated,

Any Good Rent a Car Tips at Airport or Town?

by Traveldi Online Now Apr 17, 2007 at 5:11 PM

      Hello Everyone,
Well I am going to visit the lovely Saskatoon in July and looking forward to it from what you all say in the tip pages etc.

You are all in the know, so tell me if you think Westjet will have a fantastic seat sale after I buy my flights from Toronto to Sask this week ( I am looking at Canada Jazz airline) - raise your hands if you think I should hold off for a while (get those crystal balls out) It is crazy to think I can get from Belfast in NI to Toronto cheaper - anyway...

The next thing is, do any of you have brilliant insight into Car Hire in Saskatoon - I need to get a car/
big car to fit 6 of us and luggage and head to Yorkton.

      Any advice would be great.
Looking forward to tasting those berries.

      Love Traveldi x

      Hello everyone,

Lots of advice would be greatly appreciated!
My patner and myself have been looking into moving to saskatchewan, he will be doing long haul driving, so I am looking for a nice area for myself and my three year old son to live (and feel safe) whilst he is away. I wil hopefully be going to the uni of sask, so would like to live in a nice area near to the uni, that wont take me too long to drive there each day, also i would need a nice primary school for my son.

Some general questions also...I am still young ;o) so would like to know about nightlife, shopping (the clothing type!), restaurants and that kind of thing. From what i've seen saskatchewan looks like a very nice place to live but would greatly appreciate your thoughts...many thanks.XxX

Obviously this is a big move. If anyone can help what are the average wages for a truck driver, do they earn good money? Is 50 to 60 thousand dollars a year a good wage out there. Also we have 3 children and I would like to know what the education standards are like out there. I apolgise for all the questions but we are trying to find out as much as we can before we make the decision to emigrate. Thanks in advance.

Since my father is a Canadian citizen and my sister is dual, I was told I too should apply for Canadian citizenship as it would have several benefits, specifically when it comes to getting a job. Does anyone know how I would go about starting the process or if it is even worth it? Any input is appreciated, thanks.

by RedEft Online Now Mar 29, 2005 at 10:56 AM

I'll be visiting Saskatoon during the first and second week of May on business. Some of the information I need is: What type of clothes to pack? I know it's springtime but mother nature can be fickle. Also a nice quiet place to get a beer or three after work. I'm not looking for a meat market type dance club, (my wife won't let me date!) just a typical pub style with a good selection of tap beers.
