      Mazatlán Jul 20, 2016 at 7:51 AM

Does anyone know how to book a shuttle from the airport to the Golden Zone. I hear they are only about 75 pesos. I am trying to get my sister to the Golden Zone from the airport without having to pay the 300 pesos for a taxi.

    • Is it safe for a 20 year old woman to travel Nuevo Laredo

Nuevo Laredo Jun 29, 2016 at 5:34 PM

I am thinking about visiting family in Nuevo Laredo. I hope to visit in August. It's been ten years since I been there. I am Hispanic and I speak Spanish a little bit but I have the accent. So my question is ..is it wise to visit there.

      Baja California ...

      Mexico Jul 8, 2016 at 1:11 AM

So...I was supposed to go to Chiapas and Oaxaca this august but the latest news made me realize this isnt the best time, therefore I'm thinking about Baja California.
I'll be in Mex from August the 1st till the 19th, I'll be stayin the first few days in Mex DF, then I have from the 3rd or 4th till the 18th for Baja California. I don't really have a plan, just a general idea to start in Tijuana and go down to La Paz (I've been told to avoid Cabos San Lucas). Maybe rent a car and drive down...how would you suggest we move around? rent a car or by buses?
How about nice spots to stop, puerto Peñasco, ensenada, rosalito, la paz?

      Thanks for any advice!

      Tourist Card

Mexico City Jun 23, 2016 at 12:17 PM

I thought you only need a passport to enter Mexico, but now I am hearing you need something called a tourist card. I will only be transiting through Mexico City and will most likely remain at the airport. I was told that if you're only changing planes, you do not need this card. However, we will be taking the monorail from one terminal to the other, and someone said since anyone off the street can use the monorail, that using it to get in between terminals basically means that you are entering Mexican soil. So do we need a tourist card or not? If so, where can we get one? I read it costs like $20.
They also said you're not allowed to lose it, because you have to present it on the way back, and if you don't have it, you will be fined. But again, is all this necessary if we are only changing planes and not actually planning to set foot on Mexican soil?
I found a link with more detailed information, but it's all in Spanish.

      current info on san felipe??

by pink_fever Online Now Dec 26, 2004 at 1:16 PM

My parents (they are not the "retired" types - more san francisco-bay-area hipster parents...!) and little brothers are wondering if san felipe is still unspoiled - they can handle a little bit of development but nothing too oppressive. We're looking for a mellow-yesteryear-kinda place to go to with unspoiled beaches for swimming/snorkeling, mountain biking, hiking, hanging-out in local eateries - NO chain hotels, rude wealthy Americans/Mexico City elite typesand the like.
