      Cassis Jun 29, 2016 at 11:31 AM

I want to camp in Cassis for 2 weeks and I see that Les Cigales does not allow to book a pitch before beeing there.
Has anybody been in my Situation and can tell me if there is a good chance to get a place in the middle of July or if it is possible that I arrive there and do not get anything?

      Quirky restaurant

      Nice Jul 10, 2016 at 10:48 AM

Years ago we ate in a restaurant in Nice that was owned by an elderly woman and her sister or daughter (can't quite remember). It was in the old town and it was very basic, I don't think there was even a menu, you just ate what you were served. It was all local, homemade food. Can anyone tell me the name of the restaurant and whether or not it's still there?

      Thanks!

Time we need for transfering to town from airport

      Nice Jul 18, 2016 at 3:42 AM

We are flying to Nice, but leaving to Marseille as fast as we can (we will visit Nice before flight back home). Our rent lady wants to know when we will arrive to Marseille allready. The trip is at september. But someone just told that because of the strikes in trainsystems, we should not book the tickets yet.
Now I´m not sure what to do. Should I book or not. And if our flight lands at 9.10 (in the morning) , when we could think to be going to train?
There seems to be straight bus connection to Marseille from airport, but I haven´t seen any info about how long the bus takes to Marseille. If it isn´t VERY much slower, it could be a good option too. Expesially if there are strikes in trains.

Need advice about the closest public beach

      Nice Jul 19, 2016 at 1:50 AM

      Hi everyone!
Need advice about the closest public beach to rue Tondutti.
I am used to Beau Rivage – mainly because it has a toilet and cabanas. I consider now Plage Castel, but a bit afraid to find myself on the rocks (literally).
Any supermarket around open on Sunday? The only I remember is the good old Spar in rue Macarani (or is it Macaroni :)), but that’s a bit far. Maybe Casino or Monoprix will think of making a profit with the high season?
Anything new in general? I mean, after I found Gare Routiere and the old fountains completely demolished, I can expect any surprise… Last year they were digging the earth for a tram station right opposite the place in rue Tondutti where I am going to stay. I wonder how things stand now; hope I won’t have to put my earplugs on with the construction noise…
Sorry if this appears twice - had a #404 the first time (and actually the second time, too!) - apparently because I use Word spelling proof

    • Shops in winter

by ephraim08 Online Now Oct 19, 2014 at 8:09 AM

Are most shops in the winter months open or closed on town? I suppose what I am really asking is Saint-Remy-de-Provence very tourist-oriented?
      Merci,
      Ephraim

      Hello,

We're contemplating the idea of staying in one place in Provence during our 9 day stay. Is this recommended or should we opt to stay in 2 different B&Bs?Any advise on this?
One of the places is in Plan D'Orgon and the other place is in Saint Remy de Provence.

On the one hand, we would like to really connect with one of the places and on the other hand, it's not like we're going to just sit around all day as there are things to see so moving to another B&B should not be a problem.

      Your advice is much appreciated!

      Many thanks,
      Elle

by Alimacg Online Now Dec 7, 2004 at 6:30 AM

Hi everyone! Maussane is going to be the base to a holiday of "a month in Provence". Are the villages around Maussanne easily accessible? is the area pretty and is there alot to see and do? transport to Avignon? car or bus? Please help - this was not my destination of choice, so I have not really done much research. Thanks Ali
