    • Decent Hotel

Hong Kong Dec 31, 2016 at 9:11 AM

Planning to go to hong Kong and have friends staying at the Kowloon Shangri la...however this hotel is WAY out of my price range. Does any one know of the Regal Kowloon ? I've been reading reviews and they go from great to bugs in bed..and dates are old (2008) Anyone stay there recently? If anyone can suggest another hotel in that area I would appreciate it..

    • Taxi from Hong Kong International to Shangri La Kowloon

Hong Kong Jan 12, 2017 at 9:30 AM

How easy is it to get a taxi at the airport in the evening (8-9 PM)? How much is the fare on average, including luggage? Do the taxi drivers expect a tip, and if so, how much? Do airport taxis take US dollars? Do airport taxis accept credit cards?

As an alternative, are there reasonable limo services? Online, it looks like about $100 US and up.

    • Train or plane? Hong Kong to Guilin and back?

Hong Kong Dec 20, 2016 at 8:28 AM

I am staying in /Hong Kong in September. Cant decide whether to take the train or fly?

Flying would be easy - once you have forced yourself through the crowds, get threatened by the hand luggage people into being frisked, crawled aboard the plane, do the same thing with the luggage carousel and best of costs £264...

Train? Where do I get it? Do I have to get to Shenzen and the pick up a Guilin train. How do I do that? It takes eight smooth hours and then you alight. It costs....about ...£38.00

Train is the obvious way but how do I find my way to Shenzen station??

    • Place to stay in Sai Kung?!?

by kajabjo Online Now Oct 26, 2011 at 9:35 PM

My husband and I are going to Sai Kung tomorrow (Friday) and we are looking for a place to stay the night. Is there anywhere in Sai Kung that offers a simple room to stay? I've only seen fancy hotels that seems to be quite far out. We're looking for something more central, like a guesthouse/room or hostel.

      Thanks for your help! :)

    • Trekking to Tai Long Wan from Pak Tam Au

by kajabjo Online Now Oct 26, 2011 at 7:34 PM

Hi there, is it difficult to find where the trail starts in Pak Tam Au? Or where to get off the bus? Heading to Tai Long Wan, are there signs to follow or do we need a map?
And then to get back to Sai Kung from Tai Long Wan, what are the options?
      Hope someone can help :)

Hi I'm a British citizen soon to be living in Sai Kung. I heard there was a shop you could buy british beer and ales from. Does another know where this place is and if it in fact exists?
