    • Passport expiring less than 6 months before returning to the Philippines

      Philippines Jan 2, 2017 at 5:53 PM

My family is going on a trip to Canada in April, but one of our member's passport is expiring in September, which would put it into less than 6 months validity. The travel agency told us that the passport only needs to be valid until you leave Canada, so she would have no problem on the trip there. But I read online that the Philippines requires that the passport needs to be valid for more than 6 months to enter. Will she have problems entering back to the Philippines? She is a permanent resident in the PH but is a Chinese citizen. The problem is that the agency told her that the Chinese embassy will not renew her passport if it's still more than 6 months valid, so we really cannot renew it ahead of time.

    • Traveller to Loas in November

      Loas Sep 15, 2006 at 5:42 AM

I am planning to travel through Loas for 1 month with my girlfriend. I have read a lot of information about Loas and it sounds a wonderfull place to travel and visit. Has anyone been to Loas recently???. If so is there any problems over there, eg bombing etc???. I have also read that numerous people have experienced theft over there.Any information on security would be very much appreciated. I have travelled before for 1 year but it is always nice to find out the places that are not so good to visit. Any help on this matter will be appreciated.

      Cheers

I'm going to Luang Prabang by passing border at Chaing Khong. I'll be in Chaing Khong at 8 am. How far from Chaing Khong to Huay Xai? Can I take a slow boat at 9 am? If not, what time next one leaves? Or do I have to wait until next day morning? There's a luandry in Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng and Vientaine? How much does it cost?
