I intend on going to the Philippines next year, right about this time of the year, I don't mind the hot weather I actually love it, so my trip is to start off in Manila for 3 days then head off to Cebu, I have been doing some research on the net and I am so confused on where to stay, do I stay in city side or the beach.
As i want to party do some shopping, and chill and some sight seeing, but i do not want to be too far away from the happening spots, having to haggle for a cab to get me places.
i am accustomed to how things operate in Bangkok is Cebu similar? I just want to stay at a convenient spot and discover this city.
Another thing is I am a single guy so most probably will find a lady companion during the trip, are the hotels guest friendly like in Bangkok at a fee or will it be an issue? if anyone knows, not too worried about "that nightlife" if you get what I am saying. i am also interested in the Island hopping as that seems fun so that's where I am stuck dont want to be far away from the facilities that offer these excursions especially after a heavy night of partying.
Does any body ever try fishing in Philippines /cebu area, need some info if there is any

Hi! I'll be visiting Cebu on Mar 17. My problem is the transportation details. I'll be arriving in Mactan airport on Mar 17 at 10PM. Is there any bus ride available at that time going to Southern Cebu? If none, can someone recommend me a good place to stay to kill some time till the first bus trip to Oslob?
Details of transportation ride from Oslob to Moalboal. Where should I ride from Oslob to go to Moalboal? What is the last trip from Moalboal to Cebu City? I need to stay in Cebu City the night of Mar 19 because my departure flight is 5:00am on Mar 20.
PS: If there's someone that will be traveling those days and will be doing the same activity, maybe we can tag along? I'm also willing to join a group if there's any.
i am dying to get my hands on masareal and tablea but the only place i will be in Cebu is in mactan-cebu airport at 5:25 PM (for a connecting flight) and will only have 2.5 hours to spare before my next flight ....

i found didangs masareal online and it says it takes 15 minutes to get there, would it be worth it? is it really 15 minutes (im worried about the traffic)...

Having spent the last two winters in Phuket/Thailand my wife and I are looking for something more "original" this time and with "beautiful beaches" being the key word we chose the Plilippines.
Planning on travelling to Cebu island for anywhere between 2-5 months in late 2015 (depending on the weather and visa requirements). We've got a winter to spend and we love sandy beaches and clear waters. Where would you guys suggest staying for this period of time? We'd like to have the opportunity of nearby island hopping, beautiful beaches within short distance etc.
What is an advisable way to find a decent apartment for long term rent over there?
Of course we'll visit places like El Nido, Boracay etc from Cebu but we'd like to have a base somewhere close to "civilisation" with a little shopping nearby, not such a "dead" place in the evenings... am I asking for too much? heheheh...
Thank in advance for the help!!
where can i buy bus tickets to manila via samar leyte?
Arriving Cebu City airport at 18:15 then need to get to my hotel near Robinsons Fuente for an overnight stay before I leave for Moalboal very early next morning. Is there any chance that a mobile phone shop in this area will be open in the evening so I can purchase a cheap talk and text phone to use in the philippines ?
Which hotel is affordable yet provides a relaxing ambiance in Cebu city?
My family is planning to stay for 2 nights in Cebu on December. Its our forst time to visit the place, since we only have limited time to stay there, i would like us to stay in a relaxing place where we can enjoy the beauty of the place. I also consider a place near the airport because we have an early morning flight on the 11th. Thanks!
I fly out of Cebu to Puerto Princessa Saturday morning. Does anyone have any suggestions on what area I should locate myself at for Friday night? I'm a fan of wandering, eating, live music, and drinking (but not too much). Would Cebu be a worthwhile stay for two nights? I don't mind a long cab ride to and from the airport. So an area that would maximize my wandering pleasure would be great. Thanks!
Are there any stores located in Cebu City that we have here in the US?

Coming to Cebu first part of April and would like to know something about the Camotes Islands. How do you get there is it expensive and is it worth the trip. I don't know if it was damaged by the typhoon or not. Looking at staying at the Mangodlong Paradise. Any advice would help.

Me and some of my friends are going to Cebu City Philippines. Were looking for a budget hotel near the SM City Cebu Mall for us to easy access the mall. Can anyone tell me which one has good facilities and good accommodation?
Hi everyone! I have some Japanese friends who are coming to visit in the first week of December. I'd like to buy them some "Welcome to Cebu" souvenirs. Do you know of a specific shop or stall that sells these? Somewhere within the city would be preferable. Arigatou! =)

I'm quite the street food fan and have tasted my fair share of hawker's delights. Tempura, fish ball, corn kernels coated in margarine, kwek-kwek, balot - you name it! I have a particular fancy for "pungko-pungko" and its specials - pig's brain and ginabot. But I only frequent the ones behind the Sampaguita Suites building (on Gotianuy Street) and in near Redemptorist Church.
Are the other places worth trying?
