transfer from cruise terminal to hotel

      Barcelona Feb 1, 2017 at 6:51 AM

A friend and I are coming to Barcelona and needing to get transportation from cruise terminal to hotel. I need to know of any transfer companies in Barcelona and also any recommendations for nice but not too expensive hotels that are centrally located. Also will be in Barcelona for 3 days, so would like recommendations for shopping. Thanks for the info.

      Nice area to stay in?

Minorca Island Feb 16, 2017 at 2:59 PM

      Hello fellow travellers!
We're a family of four going to Menorca for a week in July - we've never been before and would appreciate advice on where to look for accommodation. We're looking for a quiet village/town by the sea - away from any big resorts. Any good suggestions? We found a lovely flat in Cala Morell, but we can't quite figure out if there are any restaurants/grocery shops at all, or if it's all residential. The kids are 14 and 17 so might be nice for them if it's not completely deserted :) We'd really appreciate any suggestions!

      Best wishes from Anne :)

    • Hiking Group/Tour Agency recommendation

by penguinstudio Online Now Aug 3, 2015 at 2:16 PM

      Hi there,

I will be travelling to Picos De Europa in End August and will use Cangas de Onis as base. Is there any Hiking Group/Tour Agency that anyone can recommend. I will prefer to do at least one full-day hiking trip in the national park, preferably Sotres-Pandabano-Bulnes route.

Looking forward to hearing from all of you.

      Thanks

      Shanne

      Poncebos-Urriellu-Aliva-Sotres-Tielve-Poncebos; reality check please

by JulianN42 Online Now May 7, 2015 at 4:49 AM

Hi, I would like some feedback on my proposed solo hike. I would also appreciate some time estimates and just any feedback, really. If you've done any of these hikes, please comment what is not to miss and what could be missed (if anything).

Day 1: Poncebos-Refugio de Urriellu. 8km; probably take that funicular in the beginning so it's probably more like 5KM. 3-4hrs. Night shots of Urriellu.

Day 2: Urriellu to Refugio de Aliva to Sotres. Can I actually go up Urriellu? Would like a photo right as dawn cracks. 24km; 12hrs? I'm undecided whether this is too big of a hike. If I go direct to Sotres, it's 7.8km.

Day 3: Sotres to Tielve to Poncebos. 12km; 6hrs?

Basically, I need to start and end at Poncebos. I'm not sure if Day 2 and/or Day 3 are too big of hikes. If I do a shorter route and I'm done in 3-4 hours, what do I do with the rest of my day? I guess I should bring a book and a frisbee for alone/make friend time. On the other hand, I don't want to have seriously underestimated the time for Day 2 and be hating myself for hiking 16 hours. Perhaps if I want a big hike I could skip Aliva on Day 2 but instead of stopping at Sotres, go straight to Tielve to make for an easy Day 3. I'm pretty fit but this definitely will be a tax on my body. That's kind of what I want though.

    • 3/4 day trek in the Picos staying at refuges

by samcrowfoot Online Now Jan 20, 2015 at 11:51 AM

Hi there - I wondered if you might be able to help as I've done lots of research but am having trouble coming to any conclusions! My family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teenagers 15, 17 and 19) are coming to the Picos in the summer en route to Portugal. Ideally we'd like to go to a hotel/pension where we can stay one night, leave our baggage and car and start a circular walk the next morning that will last about 4 days - staying each night at a different mountain refuge and returning after the 3rd night to the hotel to pick up our kit, stay one final night and depart south. We're all fairly fit and up for decent walks although don't want to experience the cable I've read about ('a fall could be fatal') on the Central Picos circuit!! (am hoping there must be an alternative to this steep section?) Do you have any suggestion of where we should base ourselves (hotel/town), which part of the Picos we should concentrate on and any specific routes/refuges that would fit this brief? Would very much appreciate any advice anyone can give

    • Hiking and staying in Picos

by Medusa1296 Online Now Feb 1, 2014 at 5:40 PM

Hi, we want to spend three 3 days in the Picos in the second half of August. We want to hike. Our preferred option is to hike for three days and staying overnight in accommodation preferably with food options along the route. Otherwise we would stay in a town/village and make daily walks from there. What is the best route?
      Thanks.

Picos de Europa in january 2011

by csomore Online Now Nov 24, 2010 at 3:10 AM

I am fascinated by the looks of the mountains and intend to go in january next year.

I am a passionate photographer and intend to take some nice landscape photos at dawn/ dusk.

Will there be snow everywhere? to which train station should I travel (will come from Barcelona) ? Which village should I stay ?

I look forward to your reply.

    • How to get to Picos de Europa?

by lpatchett Online Now Feb 23, 2008 at 9:30 AM

Although i have left it a little late, im trying to get a short hiking holiday sorted out in picos de europa this easter, however im having trouble working out a route there.

My original plan was to get a flight to bilbao and go to picos from there...but im also aware its possible to get there from santander. Does anyone know which is the easier option, and how to actually get there from these places?

Any help would be absolutely brilliant.

      Luke
