      Hi Guys

Can someone please suggest a Itinerary for New Zealand – South Island.

Fly in to Christchurch at 1am on the 11th of June and Fly out on the 18th at 6:30am.

Would like to see Mt Cook, Lake Tekapo, Fox Glacier and Milford Sounds.

      Is that enough time?

      Public transport

      Auckland Dec 26, 2016 at 2:30 AM

      Dear VTers,
could anybody tell me, how I can get from the airport to Grafton, 21 Whitaker Place by public transport ? We have accommodation there but we are travelling on budget and public transport is something we are going to use as often as possible. :-)

    • Route from Ohakune to Thames or Thorntons Bay

New Zealand Jan 11, 2017 at 5:14 PM

I'm wondering what's the best route to take from Ohakune to Thornton's Bay - are there any places worth stopping to see on the way? Any advice would be welcomed. Cheers, Shelley

    • Arthurs Pass

      Christchurch Dec 31, 2016 at 4:59 AM

Firstly thanks for all the helpful info. Major change of plans decided to fly from Auckland to Christchurch rather than take the ferry

Is it possible in a day to drive from Christchurch via Arthurs Pass to Greymouth - a friend who is married to a Kiwi laughed at the idea yet Google maps makes it 151 miles which would make it doable even on mountain roads given that we started early. Likewise I've been warned that the roads around Fox & Franz Joseph Glaciers are liable to close if there is heavy rain. In blunt terms is this scaremongering - equally a hol is for relaxing so we don't want stress

All info much appreciated and I'm sorry for bothering VTs but I know the advice given is always top notch

      Many thanks
