I plan to holiday in Agii Apostoli, to the west of Chania, for 7 days in September. I do not have a car.
What is the situation with public transportation (eg buses) if we want to travel along that coastline to the west of Chania? Is it for example reliable and frequent? And are the local taxis expensive?
In addition, if we want to go on day excursions to Agria Gramvousa Island and to Elafonissi Beach and Island, from Agii Apostoli, what is the best way?
Hello; are there any places in Athens or near Athens flea markets and also garage sale.... etc? Especially How these things going on in there could someone explain? Thanks :)
Stopping in Kotor, Montenegro and in Greece will be stopping in Argostoli, Athens, Corfu and Mykonos
Any suggestions on what to do for the day in each? or what are the must dos?
are excursions recommended or would catching a bus or cab to the attractions be good enough?

Hi there. Will I be able to find walking sticks, such as tree branches, at the top of the gorge in Omalos, before I start the hike down to the sea? I really do not want to carry around expensive aluminum "ski poles" all over Europe. If not, should I take the "lazy hike" (going Up the Samaria to the narrow point, then returning down) the day before the downhill hike, so I can certainly find discarded tree branches?! And any advice re hiking is appreciated. I'm in my late 50s, and I consider myself an advanced beginner with good lower body strength. Thanks!
My daughter (13) and I will be visiting Greece 27 September - 6 October 2016. This trip is more of an education/cultural experience rather than island hopping and beaching (which is something we'll do with the whole family in the next couple of years) . Not that we'll shy away from a day or 2 beaching this time round... :)
So here are a few questions.. would love to hear of any advise/suggestions/recommendations etc.. this is our first time and thought we'd do/see the following:
Start off or end in Athens (3 nights)
Do a 2 day guided tour to Olympia & Delphi (1 night) - any recommendations who could do this for us?
Visit Poros & Hydra ( can do 1 night on each or 2 nights on one of the islands)
Maybe Corfu for a couple of nights
Is this advisable? I will not be hiring a car, so will be relying on ferry's / public transport etc.
Is this a good combination? As my daughter loves Greek mythology, hence visiting the more ancient sites etc.
Your input will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
