I'm road tripping with my mother for her 60th Bday gift. We fly into Boston, spend a few days and then have roughly 5 days before we depart from Portland Maine. I know that everything will be absolutely gorgeous as far as scenery goes but does anyone had a route suggestion to include Vermont/New Hampshire?
quaint towns (who doesn't)
local art but not museum tours
fairs, foods, events
diary farms, cheese tastings
anything that's unique and small business owner oriented
I live in California and she lives in New Mexico, hard for us to grasp that you really can travel from one end of the state to the other in one day! Also any ideas of when we should book rooms in what towns would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much...
Hey, My boyfriend and I are travelling to New York mid October for 3 weeks from the UK. We are planning to spend a few days in New York and then travelling round the North East - Maine, Massachusettes, New Hampshire. The is our first time in the US and we would welcome any advice on places to visit and also how to travel! As I am under 25 would hiring a car be too expensive and would it be better to go by rail? Any suggestions on great places to see/do/stay - basically everything, (we both love the outdoors) would be really welcome. Thanks for the help!
We are Couple with one 14 year old son. Have travelled to US before nut not NYC or New England. We land JFK on 14th august 04. So far have booked first 4 nights in NYC Manhattan (Howard Johnson Plaza). We then have 13 nights to play with and are thinking Niagara and New England. Should we do the Niagara trip as a return flight from NYC and if so is one night enough? Is Niagara worth the detour? Any low cost airlines recommended? This would leave 11/12 nights to do New England. Any ideas for a good tour including a few days on the beach and maybe a couple of days in Boston. Any must sees in New England. Our budget is around USD150 per night for hotels. Appreciate any thoughts or alternative ideas.
