Curious if everything is still open in November? is there enough to do to spend one night and plan a day there or is there any other area that would be preferable during this time of year, we were planning on heading up here for a day and then going to Delft and Den Hague for the 2nd night. Amsterdam is already planned for another weekend and we were hoping to see a smaller more quaint area. Thanks!
I will be in Belgium and the Netherlands for 2.5 weeks. All I'd like to be able to do is text travelling companions (also Canadians) in the event that we get separated. A travel pass for CAD 60 to my Bell Mobility plan would give unlimited calling and texting for a month. I found this: telestial.com/international-... and am wondering if it is a viable option.
I'm an young Italian girl (30 years old) who has a passionate personal involvement in fitness classes in particular Total body, G.A.G. and H.I.I.T.
I have just returned from a luxury resort in Zanzibar where I worked as fitness trainer for 3 months. All of my experience comes from my work in the field so I never had time to do a course to obtain a valid faster certificate to teach in your country. But I am very interested to do it.
I will travel very soon in Europe, in particular in Amsterdam. Can someone help me with some information?
1) Is it necessary a Degree in Sport sciences?
2) What kind of certificate I have to bring? How can I do that?
I didn't live yet in Amsterdam but I really hope it’s going to be my next stop and I want to live there for a while.
I'm grateful if you can help me with these information.
Thanks to all!!

I am coming to Amsterdam for 5 days and will be using the tram maybe only once or twice a day (maybe not even) is it better to use single use tickets or what is the best place to go.
Also where do I buy these single use tickets if I am getting on a tram from prinsegracht to central station because there is no station in prinsegracht I don't think.
Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm looking to plan a trip and I want some expert advice on somewhere to stay. Looking for somewhere not too far from the center of Amsterdam and we don't mind having just a room no breakfast required!! There are 6 of us but we don't want a horrible hostel so we know we will need 2 triple single rooms. Looking for the weekend Friday 9th June. Thanks guys
We need to get from the Amsterdam airport to Bruges, with a layover for lunch in Ghent, on Sat. Sep. 24. If we book online through Rail Europe, there is an economy fare for $58 on a Thalys train leaving Cs at 9:44, changing trains in Antwerp, and arriving Ghent 12:33. The tickets are non-refundable. We would have to take a train from the airport to the Central Station; apparently they run every 20 min at a fare of CAD $10 (perhaps less locally?).
There are also IC trains: open tkts and stops along the way for $102: leave Schiphol at 10:07 arrive Ghent 2:07. If we land on time and clear customs quickly, we might be able to leave Schiphol at 9:07 and arrive Ghent 1:07.
The tickets / fare to Bruges quoted above allow a layover.
Any comments / suggestions / alternatives?
I am looking for a karaoke bar in Maastricht.
Any idea where we could go on a Saturday evening?
Looking for Football tickets. Would like to see Ajax, PSV or Feyenoord play while in the Netherlands. Will be in Amsterdam for 16 days starting next Friday. I am particularly looking for 2 tickets for Feyenoord vs Manchester United on September 15th or PSV vs Feyenoord on September 18th. So if anyone knows how I can go about purchasing tickets for when I am in Amsterdam that would be great.
I will arrive in Amsterdam with Flixbus at Amsterdam Sloterdijk.

13 travelers will be traveling to Amsterdam (Hotel Aalders) from a Viking River Cruise on 9/14/16.
I am seeking information regarding the most efficient mode of transportation to the hotel from the port and then on 9/15/16, back to the airport.
Thanks so much!
I will have a short term study in Erasmus MC for 4 months. My 2 year old daughter will accompany me during that period of time. Is there any day care service or nursery nearby? I may need to bring her there for a few hours daily during week days.
Besides, is there any suggestions about the housing?
Since the last time I did this trip central security has been implemented. I have a long layover at Schiphol arriving from Kenya early in the morning. I want to go to the KLM lounge and take a shower upon arrival. Then go into Amsterdam for a few hours before my evening flight back to the US via Delta.
In the past I could go directly to the KLM lounge and then go thru passport control. However, now upon arriving from Kenya I must either 1. Exit the airport and go thru passport control and skip the lounge or 2. Use the transfer route and go thru transfer security to access the KLM lounge. If I choose option 2 and take the transfer route is there away then to exit the airport and go thru passport control?
During my visit of Netherlands this autum i plan to cycle Zuiderzee cycling tour (about 400 km long distance route consisting of national routes LF21, LF22 & LF23) - i plan to finish tour in about 5-6 days. Since i will visit the Netherlands with my car i have following dobuts:
- Where to start my cycling tour ? Namely, i look for possibility to safely par my car for few days, nearby hire a bike and return to the same place after few days. Do you have any idea what would be the best solution for this issue? I would like to avoid larger cities if possible and start in easter part of roure (preferable around cities of Kampen or Harderwijk)
- Where is the best option to hire a bike. I google it, but i have not found reliable information about what bikes they suggest for such tour, if it is possible to hire bike bags, etc. In some cases the prices were also high - since the Netherlands is known as cycling promoting county i expect that there should be also available to rent a proper bike for less than 100 Eur for 6 days.
- I assume that the safe during the night storage of bike during my tour (so in YH, BB, Hotels, Campings, etc.) is not an issue in Netherlands?
I am looking forward to your response and thank you in advance.
visiting Arnhem this weekend and wondered what were some good restaurants for teenagers and adults, also we are looking for something fun to do with our 14 yr old saturday 11 - 5?
Thank you !

I am traveling from New York to Brighton UK via Amsterdam as at this point it is the only viable solution with a pet. I would need to get to Hoek of Holland for the ferry to Harwich, then train to Brighton. Is there direct transport from the airport to the Hoek or do I have to go into Amsterdam? Has anyone done this trip? In addition to the added difficulty of arranging for the pup, I will also be carrying my daughter's wedding dress (purpose of the trip) as well as my own luggage. Just thinking of this makes me want to get back in bed and sleep until I can just wake up and find myself in Brighton! I'm not as young as I used to be when I backpacked through Europe 50 years ago, so things are intimidating me a bit. Also my origin is a 3 hour flight from New York so at some point during this planned odyssey, I may collapse so I would appreciate any advise, information, comment (but no comments indicating that this planned scheme would qualify me for immediate admittance to a mental institution please)
Do you know when is the schiphol airport duty free closing please?
