Is there budget accomodation in Iran?

      Iran Feb 12, 2017 at 5:10 AM

      Hello all
I'm in the early stages of planning an Iran holiday and am wondering what budget options are like or if they are even recommended?
I'm sure pricey hotels are readily available but are there hostels, B&B's etc?
      Thanks everyone!

      Train Tehran to Tabriz.

      Iran Jan 17, 2017 at 10:54 PM

I need to get from Tehran to Tabriz mid April. I wonder how safe the overnight train is for an older woman travelling on her own? What would be an alternative to the train, it seems the flights are very expensive.
      Thank you.

      Jerusalem Jan 4, 2017 at 11:55 PM

We plan to spend 6 days in Jerusalem. On two days we plan to take day tours: one to Masada, Ein Gadi and the Dead Sea; the second to Jerico, Bethlehem and Ramala. The balance of four days we intend spending as under:-
Day 1. Sandeman’s free walking Tour.
Day 2, 3 and 4 use the Jerusalem old city audio guide and walk around Jerusalem. Our aim is to experience the rich history of the city. However the challenge is to select such tours which optimize the experience and we get to see the maximum. In view of the time available (3 full days), we could easily take 4 or 5 such tours. Need guidance on which ones to select out of the following:-
      1. Via Dolorosa Tour (5 h 17 mins)
      2. In the footsteps of Christian Sects (5 hours 19 mins)
      3. The Temple Mount Compound (5 hours 19 mins)
      4. From Mount Zion to Jaffa Gate (3hours 10 mins)
      5. The Jewish Quarter (3 hours 12 mins)
      6. Marketplaces in the Old City (3 hours 13 mins)
      7. Ramparts Walk, Northern Section (3 hours 13 mins)
      8. Mount of Olives Tour of Churches (3 hours 12 mins)
      9. Ramparts Walk, Southern Section (3hours 13 mins)
      10. Jerusalem in the First and Second Temple Period (5hours 21 mins)
      11. Tower of David Museum of the History of Jerusalem (2 hours 35 mins).
      12. The King’s Valley (3 hours 11 mins)
      13. The Herodian Quarter (1 hour 12 mins)

    • Layover in Doha

      Qatar Jan 3, 2017 at 7:57 PM

      Hi Everyone!

My friend and I are traveling to Vietnam and we have about a 8 hour layover in Doha. We were really excited that we might have a chance to explore Doha for a couple hours before boarding again for Vietnam.

We would arrive in the evening and have to board again in the a.m. (about 8 hours give or take). Qatar Airways offers a complimentary tour of Doha according to their website which is pretty cool.

Has anybody used the tour provided by the airline or perhaps booked a tour guide for a bit of sightseeing? It would be a shame not to step foot outside and miss an amazing city.

      Thank you all!

    • Istanbul Attractions Near the Ataturk Airport

      Istanbul Dec 25, 2016 at 10:01 PM

      Hello everyone,

I have a pretty big gap between flights at Ataturk airport. I arrive about 18:00 on Fri Dec30 and leave about 13:00 on Sat Dec31. I do not need to have a visa to leave the airport, so I would like to explore the city a bit. What attractions should I visit and until what time is it safe to be in the street? I am planning to spend an evening/night in the city, go back to the airport for the night, and then visit this ( city tour. What do you think about this plan? How heavy is the traffic going to be these days? Keep in mind that I am 17 and I am not ready to spend money on hotels or taxis.

      Thank you for the information,

Abu Dhabi Dec 9, 2016 at 2:13 PM

We are looking for an advice on the cost effective transportation from Abu Dhabi Airport to center town short of taking a taxicab. We would be out of Airport at around 9:30 PM and have minimal luggage ( a small cabin size drag bag.) Since we are there for only for a night. A city bus would be fine as long as it is safe. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

    • Swimming Pool Rules in Doha Hotels

      Doha Dec 5, 2016 at 1:57 PM

      Hi all

My partner and me are going to Doha soon and we heard that some hotels have separate swimming pool times for women and men. Can anyone advise whether there are hotels that don't have this rule? We want to make sure we don't book a hotel with this policy around swimming pool use. Cheers, everyone!

    • Dubai - Mumbai - AbuDhabi

Abu Dhabi Dec 3, 2016 at 10:52 AM

We have a return ticket from Toronto to Abu Dhabi. We plan to land in A.D. stay there for a couple of days and then go to Dubai. Stay in Dubai for few days. The plan is to buy a Dubai -Mumbai - Dubai ticket on Etihad Airline. to stay in India for six weeks. Etihad flights normally carry passengers from Dubai to A.D. and A.D. to Dubai by bus and have the Airline between A.D. and Mumbai.

While we would have tickets to go all the way to Dubai when coming back from India, we hope to get off at A.D. and not go any further to Dubai by Bus. Does anyone see any problem in doing so. We would appreciate any input. Thanks.
