    • Train ticket (Gent zone)

      Gent Oct 12, 2016 at 11:16 PM

I have booked a train ticket online, from Gent-dampoort station to Brugge. The ticket reflects from: Gent-zone to: Brugge. Is it possible for me to use this ticket to board at Gent st pieters station instead of Gent-dampoort?

    • Brussels to Namur

      Belgium Oct 16, 2016 at 7:33 PM

We will be staying at Crowne Plaza Brussels Le Palace. This is near Gare du Nord. We wish to travel by train to Namur. Will we be able to board train at Gare du Nord and travel to Namur without changing trains? If not, which train station should we depart from? Also, will we be able to buy tickets from a Machine? We are both over 65 and have never travelled by train in Belgium. Do we need to validate the ticket in a machine like France or write something on the back? I have spent much time looking at the NMBS/SNCB website and still confused. In other countries I have been assisted by helpful people at the station. I would like to be better prepared this time. Any tips or suggestions will be appreciated.

Looking for someone to help me find an old cafe

by jj1807 Online Now Jul 9, 2007 at 4:38 PM

I am attempting to locate a cafe near Malmédy where my grandfather stayed in December of 1944 as a US soldier. It is not the cafe associated with the massacre which was set on fire at that time. I have collected several clues from my grandfather about the cafe and its location but, so far, I have not been able to determine its name or actual location.

I would be extremely grateful if someone who is familiar with the area could help me attempt to identify it. My goal is to visit the location someday. I recognize that the building may no longer be standing or is very likely now being used for another purpose.

If anyone would like to assist, please contact me by sending an e-mail through this site to user jj1807. Thanks!
