    • How safe is Formosa Gardens area?

      Kissimmee 1 hours ago

Hi, VT'ers. Me and my family are planning to spend next holidays in Orlando/Kissimmee area. We've been there several times but we always stayed in gated communities. This time we're going to rent a house near Formosa Gardens but it isn't in a gated community so I'm a little concern about safety. Should I be concern about safety? Is it safe to leave the house alone during the day/night? How safe is Formosa Gardens area? I really appreciate any advice or comment. Thanks

    • Itinerary help - Anchorage - Kenai peninsula - talkeetna

      Alaska 2 hours ago

family of 6 adults - mid june trip - in/ out of anchorage
activities - wildlife/glacier viewing, kayak, biking, hiking, exploring towns
trying to spend as little time as possible in rental car
      itinerary so far is
      1. anchorage to seward - 3 days - for kenai fjord all day tour, hiking exit glacier/harding ice field, final day of hiking or biking, fishing
      2. next 3 day itinerary is where I need help - thinking either homer for 2 nights knowing that will add lots of car time
or renting house in girdwood area for access to prince William sound tour, hiking, cooper landing, alyeska, wildlife conservation center, ??? other ideas.
Or one night girdwood and one night north of anchorage on way to talkeetna- ideas??
      3. last night is talkeetna for denali flight seeing tour then back to anchorage for night flight out
Or would everyone recommend 3 days seward and 3 days denali? feels like it would be a lot of driving...

Could any residents give us advice on where to live? If the old louisville is safe?
Also, in terms of race relations, is the area pretty tolerant? forgive me for sounding naive but my husband is middle eastern descent and we are wanting a place that's pretty tolerant.

A friend and I will be passing through Louisville in early January. We won't have much time - an overnight with a good part of the day on either side. Looking for recommendations for a cool motel/hotel/hostel and a fun neighborhood to stroll around in. What we're not: shoppers, clubbers, or sight see-ers. Tips for a reasonable restaurant with good libations are welcome. We won't have much time, so we're not trying to do and see everything, just want to bum around and get and get an impression of the place, meet the friendly locals. :)

Seems like they've been revamping this tour recently, so I don't know what I'd get if we stopped. We have two smaller kids, and if there is still a self-guided tour around the grounds, I'd stop to let the family stretch their legs. If it is still "hustle into a room to watch a video" or a full blown tour only, I'll give this one a pass. Can anyone give me insight into what I could truly expect? Thanks!

We're going to try & hit Churchill Downs for the closing day of the season on 7/5, but other than that, we aren't sure what else to see, or what areas to stay in. I'd appreciate any advice on:

Other kids friendly places to visit
What areas to visit and/or avoid
      Hotel Recommendations
      Kid Friendly Restaurants

Also, is the Louisville Slugger factory tour good for kids? My wife thinks they'd be bored there.

      Thunder Advice

by JeffreyLangBoyd Online Now Mar 29, 2008 at 12:48 PM

Going to Louisville for the first time in a couple of weeks for Thunder Over Louisville.

We are staying at the Hyatt downtown and I had several questions all of which relate to Thunder.

Where to see fireworks and air show?

      1) Is there a "best" place to see the fireworks and air show? If yes, where?

      2) Would the Hyatt be an o.k. place to see the air show but not fireworks?

      Riverfront park question.

      1) Would you advise getting down to the park at opening (6AM) to save a place or is that a waste of time?

I booked the hotel downtown so we wouldn't have to drive afterward so if you would consider that when responding it would be appreciated.
