    • Weather April/May

      Quebec Jan 6, 2017 at 12:21 PM

To those of you who have helped and advised with the NZ trip I'm grateful but we simply can't afford it - so we're heading back to Canada

Our rough proposed plan is to fly into Boston drive up through Lake Placid and on to Montreal/Ottawa/Quebec City -not sure if it's worth visiting Halifax so might well come back a more direct route. Thinking of visiting April/May but what about snowfall? All suggestions much appreciated - not into outdoor activities but very much folk music and historic sites - we've done Niagra

Also on my want to do list is to see the Canadian Mounted Police show - I'm visiting their website daily but from past experience is there liable to be a show in Ottawa at this time of year

Is there any public transport between Banff/Lake Louise and Jasper in the winter months?

    • 1st week in Feb

      Vancouver Island Yesterday

We have the chance to visit from London during 1st week in Feb. Probably not the best time to visit but its all we have. Will there be enough for us to do/see? Will we be able to drive around (Whistler?) or will the weather make that impossible? Grateful for your thoughts.

    • One week time in British Columbia. Suggestions ?

      Canada Dec 23, 2016 at 10:14 PM

We are looking to spend one weeks time in British Columbia area, which is next week. Considering weather and roads, we believe Victoria, Tofino or may be Vancouver should be ok. We are coming from Portland.
We are not into shopping, snow sports or food, but more keen to see natural sceneries. Though Tofino and Victoria have been discussed a lot on forums, I am not able to find, when question comes, what should see in Victoria in 3 days and what should I see in Tofino in 3 days.
Can somebody help us with this ?

      Canada Jan 7, 2017 at 9:30 PM

It might be a good idea to delete your personal picture, eg, face from your profile and any personal information as who knows what will be done with the information once VT is no longer active. Think of doing this from a security aspect.

Making a visit and seeking relations in London

by gordonilla Online Now Sep 29, 2014 at 2:56 AM

I am about to change jobs and have decided to have a small holiday in between positions. I am aware that we have Canadian cousins and I think when I last met them I was about 10 or so. Any thoughts about how best to seek them out? I do have their names, and the connection comes from the marriage of a great uncle and aunt. The aunt emigrated to Canada when she was in her late 80s or early 90s I think. All her sisters had moved to Canada previously.

Any help with this will be gratefully appreciated, an will aid in my planning of a trip to the area. It will be my first trip to Canada.

      Bed Bug Registry Info

by July2 Online Now Jul 6, 2014 at 9:13 AM

Can anyone pass on any links to bed bug registry/location info. sites for London, Ontario? We plan to be there for a few months and and want to avoid these dreaded critters.

A few weeks ago I found a very helpful, up-to-date, comprehensive map indicating infested locations along with complainants' comments. This site covered private homes/condos/apt. buildings.

I cannot find this map or list now; in fact, I can find very little at all re. London, Ontario. (I keep getting bounced to London, UK instead!)

    • Moving to London, Ontario?

by LunaliVime Online Now May 31, 2012 at 3:49 PM

My boyfriend and are looking to move to Canada from America. We are looking in the southern region of Ontario. It seems that London and Leamington are both pretty affordable. Can anyone provide info on your opinions? Where would be the best place to move in terms of finding a job? (I'll honestly take anything!) What is the best city to live in terms of activity and affordability?

    • LondonApartmentsDirect Scam

Help, help, help!!! We are a group of 12 people who have contracted with London
Apartments Direct for lodging in London from Dec 26 through Jan5. After our monies were deposited, we have yet to receive a contract and have gotten sketchy, minimally reassuring emails that "everyhting will be alright and you will have a wonderful vacation." Has anyone dealt with this company before/
What body does the licsensing of these companies, in case we need to use pressure to obtain a refund? Has anyone used Home to Home? This is the new company we are dealing with (no money involved yet.) How do we check the legitimacy of an organization 4000 miles away. We don't want to end up sleeping at the Travelers Aid kiosk when we get to London. Has anyone used any
companies in London to rent a short lease self catering apartment. Thank you,
      thank you, thank you.

    • Lacrosse 2006 Accommadation

by Bullfrog1 Online Now Aug 20, 2005 at 6:39 AM

I'm hoping to take my family to see the 2006 World Lacrosse Championships in July. Am looking for suggestions on resonable accommadations for a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 boys ages 13 and 17. Nothing fancy, clean, safe, meals available on site or near by. Possibly an extended stay type of place with small kitchen to save money on eating out all the time. Would like it to be near the main stadium (TD Waterhouse) if possible. We'll rent a car so we can drive but would like to avoid long drives if possible.
      Thanks for the help.
