      Getting to Naples airport

      Naples Feb 10, 2017 at 2:07 PM

I just realized that our flight leaving Naples is at 6:45am. I've booked a hotel that's a 12 minute drive from the airport, but we won't be driving. How's the cab situation during that time of the day? We will be staying at the B&B Milionaria. Thanks!

      Vespa rentals

      Siena Feb 4, 2017 at 6:38 AM

We want to rent vespas while in Siena. Found a company that will bring them to our hotel. Is it best to do this with a tour, or would we be good to head out without a guide?

    • restaurant after opera?

      Naples Jan 25, 2017 at 4:21 AM

During our visit to Napoli in the end of April, we'll see "La Traviata" at the Opera, it starts at 20:00, so won't be over until at least 23.00. Fortunately it's a Saturday.
Who knows of a (nice) restaurant nearby that still serves food that late?

      Vespa rental in Siena

      Italy Jan 24, 2017 at 7:41 PM

We are headed to Siena for 3 nights and thought it would be fun to rent Vespas for a day to explore. Thoughts on this.....none of us have ever driven/ridden a Vespa. If we do this and not being part of tour, is that advisable? I think it could be a fun adventure, but are we biting off more than we can chew?

We are planning on a trip to Rome and Florence for 7 days total. I've been to Rome and think we need 4 days to get the best experience, but that leaves 3 days for Florence. Is that enough? One of us want to see Florence above all cities in Italy (not me, I want to see Rome). Thanks!

    • Which resort to stay at Lake Garda?

Lago di Garda Jan 5, 2017 at 1:52 AM

Hello, what a great website. Hope someone can help with this. Me and my partner are hoping to go to Lake Garda in the summer but we are unsure as to which resort to base ourselves at. We are both 40 and although we are definitely beyond wanting a Club 18/30 type holiday we still want a nice lively resort that has a nice nightlife until fairly late at night. Last year we went to Sorrento and this was absolutely fantastic, lots of open-air restaurants, bars and even traditional music and singing in the streets at night, this was just perfect, so we wondered if any Lake Garda resort offered something similar? I was maybe thinking of Sirmione or Garda as a base as those would both be easier for us to get to, but I have no idea what the nightlife would be like. Hope someone can help? Thanks, Sarah.

Using a public transport to get from Milan center to 'Museo Storico Alfa Romeo' in Arese.

      Milan Dec 3, 2016 at 10:39 AM

      Hello.

On Dec. 13-15d. I'm planning to visit Milan. One of the main museums I'd like to visit is Museo Storico Alfa Romeo in Arese region. According to giromilano.atm.it's journey planner, I should take the M1 metro and then at the nearby Rho rail station, I should catch a 561 line bus and then get off at the Via Aldo Moro street, with a few hundred metres left to reach my destination.

My question is: if I buy a 2-day ATM ticket (which cost 8.25 €), does it still mean it's valid around Arese area or is it only around Milan center (in other words: will I have to buy additional bus tickets to get there)?

      Thanks in advance

      Airport Shuttle from Bergamo Airport

      Milan Nov 14, 2016 at 1:02 AM

We will be arriving in to Orio al Serio Airport and would like to take the airport shuttle in to Milan. I would like to book the tickets online but the website (Orio Shuttle) is asking for a time of departure. If our flight is delayed and we miss this time slot, does anyone know if we would be allowed on a later shuttle? If we wait until we land to buy a ticket, is it too risky that we may not get a seat?

      Thanks in advance.

      Around Milan

      Milan Jul 13, 2016 at 3:04 AM

My daughter and 2 friends are in Milan for a study programme. On 24th July Sunday morning they leave by train for Venice from where they fly back home on 25th evening. They are going to Rome for this weekend of 16/17 July.

Now where can they take a full day tour on 23rd July, as they might be free from early morning, and may have already roamed around Milan enough by then? They are staying at a hotel near Milan Central for the 23rd Night.

      Thanks in advance friends.

      Milan Study

      Milan Jun 28, 2016 at 10:25 PM

My daughter and 2 friends arrive at Malpensa on 11th July afternoon. They are there till 23rd July for a summer course at NABA university (downtown of Navigli area). They are staying near the institute itself.

      Now,

      1. How do they get to that area from the Malpensa airport?

      2. How do they travel around Milan? What is the best process to sight see around Milan, and what all to see? They will be staying near the Central Station on night of 23rd (basically spend the whole day of 23rd roaming around Milan City).

      3. How to travel to and from Linate airport and NABA? For the 3, will a Taxi be more cost effective?

      Thanks in advance friends.

Day Trips by Train from Milan

      Milan May 22, 2016 at 5:18 AM

We will be in Milan for 5 nights mid July. We have visited Milan twice previously once on a tour when we stayed 2 nights in Stresa, and 4 years ago 5 nights in Milan by ourselves, with day trips to Lake Como & Bergamo. That year we travelled from Venice (3 days) to Milan. We have also visited Lake Lugano.

Looking for suggestions, train trip approx. 1.5 to 2 hours maximum. Like historic buildings, local food, easy walking town, local markets. Does not have to be to lakes. Our accommodation will be very close to Milan Centraal station.

The lady did obtain my name and email address too, but I did not receive any email confirmation. They have deduct the money from my credit card. Is it how its works (just booking number without any email)? Do I just turn up and mention my booking number?

      Milan May 7, 2016 at 6:03 PM

Hey, I've been trying to book tickets to see the Last Supper since, February, and I turn to you guys as my last chance.
It seems like they don't release tickets to individuals anymore; I kept checking for an individual ticket and the web site said "not available yet" until some time in April, then said "sold out."
Some tickets do seem to be available packaged with things I don't want to see, at high prices, however.
Can anyone recommend a way to see the fresco, at least packaged with something like the Brera Castle? I'll be arriving on May 13 and want to see it before I leave on the afternoon of the 15th, when I leave; it seems like I'm out of luck, however.
      Yours,
      Tom
