    • Best day trip to see the Great Wall

      China 36 minutes ago

Hello, we are traveling to Bejiing next week for several days (I know it will be busy as it is a national holiday), but want to know recommendations for best experiences at the Great Wall. We have looked at several tour agencies, it is advised to take a tour with a guide? If so, is it possible to book the trip from our hotel once we arrive, or do we need to book ahead of time? recommendations? thank you.

    • Internet and tours

      Xi'an 23 hours ago

      Hi
I will be in Xian from 9-15 October this year. I have a few questions:
      - is there a need to configure my Samsung Note to access internet?
      - is it cheaper to use private taxi/driver or to join advertised tours on viator for two senior travellers
      - how to get to Citadines Central Aparthotel from Xian airport?

      Appreciate advice. Thank you.

    • What to visit in/near Yangchun?

      Yangchun Sep 22, 2016 at 4:55 AM

      Hello!
I'm teaching English in Yangchun for 4 months as an internship. Does anyone know what is there around to visit on weekends? Or what places are nice to go out to in the city (parks, entertainment)?
Also, if you know how I could find some internationals or English speakers it would be very helpful!
      Thank you!

      Hi!!

Do you think 60 minutes is enough for international transfer in Terminal 3 at Capital Airport?
I am landing at 12:25 and the connecting flight is at 13:25, so I have exactly 60 minutes.
      Thanks!

My friend Nan says that it is very difficult for her to travel abroad can anyone explain?

by dansweazen Online Now May 10, 2010 at 12:21 PM

I have had a pen pal and friend for over a year now. I am from Pittsburgh PA USA and she lives in Liuzhou City,China. I own a helicopter service buisness that doesn't often allow me to leave on long excursions and we were wondering how she might be able to come to visit for a few weeks during her spring festival vacation or any other time.

GuangNan hasn't traveled abroad and doesn't have a passport yet. She is 44 and single and a mechanical engineer. Can anyone tell me how I can help her to travel? Romance may be in the future but we need to become friends in person and court first.

      Thank you in advance! Dan

      Liuzhou - what's it like?

by phil_uk_net Online Now Oct 17, 2002 at 4:26 AM

I am looking at some teaching English job options and one of the jobs is in Liuzhou in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. I can't find anything about it here on VT and searching on the web all I can find is fairly formal information rather than actual accounts from real life experience. Has anyone been and can give me some idea what life is like there - especially as a foreigner? I have not been to China before and it is quite a daunting prospect even though I am sure it would be fascinating. I've had a good look through Hailun's pages about teaching in China in general (great work Helen if you see this) but was after some info on this particular region. Thanks!
