Me and my 2 friends are travelling to Cinque Terre from 28th Oct till 31st Oct 2016. We are using Riomaggiore as our home base. Since all our bookings are done, I would like to be prepared for our stay. Do you think Cinque Terre (Restaurants, Hotels, Pubs, hiking trails etc.) will be partially closed during our stay given its an off season? also, will it rain a lot or will I face bad weather? I would really love to enjoy the sea view but I am Little worried about the weather. I understand none can predict climatic changes but your answers would really help me.
We'll be based in Noli/Spotorno in late-September and were wondering... if you had to pick one area to explore as a Daytrip, would it be FINALBORGO (in Finale Ligure) or APRICALE, and why?
Unfortunately due to limited time, we can't do both?
Thanks / Grazie!
We'll be exploring the Western side of Liguria in late-September and will be based in Noli-Spotorno. Are there any wonderful hikes not to be missed? We have 4 Nights, 5 Days, and would love to hear feedback on any of the following (if people have explored this area and nearby France):
--hiking from Isolabona up to beautiful APRICALE;
--exploring the beaches in VARIGOTTI;
--daytrip to MENTON, France;
--boat trips to islands like BERGEGGI;
--Is SAN REMO or ALASSIO worth a visit?
Would also love to hear about where you ate in this Region. We love hiking and boat trips, but also love Dancing and Music Events as well. Thanks / Grazie and Cheers! :)
We're planning a beautiful relaxing trip in late-September, but would love to have atleast one evening where we go out dancing, etc.
Since we'll be based in Noli, some options for going out are either Genoa, Alassio or San Remo. Can anyone comment on these places for Clubbing? Any specific recommendations?
We will have a car. Many thanks / Grazie!
What is the best route from the Cruise Dock to the Tourist Information Centre? How long will it take? We have a walking tour booked from the TIC.
I booked a reservation with this hotel back in April (they had a 3 night special pricing deal), which would have been wonderful except that I injured my leg and had to post pone my trip until this month. They did give me a voucher for the full price, but it has to be used by Nov 1st of this year, so after that special ran out I ended up only being able to afford two nights with the voucher.
So this morning I was checking on their website for any events happening this month and low and behold I saw another 3 night special. So immediately contacted them by email and asked if I could get the special and add the extra night? I have been back and forth by email to this hotel because on their website they do not see the 3 night special offer. I have gone to the website several times this morning and I am seeing it. If they do not want to offer it to me then they should just say, not available with your reservation or something, instead they are saying it does not exist.
So my question is for today only.... Can someone other than me see what i am seeing: If you are willing to try it for me, please go to www.portovenerehotel.it Choose the EN for English, on the left side it will say Deals, chose Deals and the options should pop up on the right, 2 Nights, 3 Nights, etc... Please click on 3 Nights and see if there is a special that runs to Nov 1, 2016. I am sure it is not my computer glitch.... Thank you Francine
Hi all, we are planning a visit on the 15th of August and I'm wondering if shops and restaurants will be open or closed since this is a national holiday. Does anyone know if businesses will be open on the 15th of August?
Hi, my husband and I are travelling to Cinque Terre for 2 nights in late November this year.
We are choosing between staying in one of the Cinque Terre towns, or in La Spezia.
We feel we would like to wake up in one of the towns and experience them fully, but we realise that November is low season and we are wondering which would be the best town to stay in so we can experience the 5 towns, but also be able to find somewhere to eat at night. Will any restaurants be open in Cinque Terre in November? Which town would be the best for both food and access to the other towns?
Hi! Is the trolley-bus line Sanremo – Ventimiglia functioning? Where does one board the trolley-bus? What is the fare and where does one buy the ticket? Where I can find the timetable? Grazie mille :)
I have read that cinque terre is 5 villages. What is the name of the village in the photo?
Hello, what train or bus leaves from Pisa to Cinque Terre? How many hours travelling?
Together with a friend, we are going to visit Genova, in August for 6 days.
I am finding it difficult to locate good guides/ tour companies that do not just do private tours. These are OK for larger groups of friends but because there are only the two of us, they are mind-blowingly expensive. Ideally, we would hope to join others on small groups tours.
We are interested in the following:
1) City tours (various)
2) Genova to Portofino etc.
3) Genova to Cinque Terre
Does anyone know of a reliable company that does small group tours? Bad guide is worse than no guide at all :))
I would hugely appreciate your expertise and help.
Many, many thanks in advance.
Wondering how much a car service would cost from La Spezia to Lucca with a little site seeing on the way. It looks like an hour or so by trains... has anyone had experience with a reasonably priced car service, not sure if they charge by the hour, miles, etc... thank you Francine
comming for few days. anything to see in the town ?
Ciao, tutti! I'll be visiting La Spezia the end of August. Can any one recommend any bar/venue that might have (live) music in the evening? Prefer locals to tourists. Had a lovely stay last year, and looking forward to my return to your beautiful city.
Grazie in anticipo - Brenda

I'll be visiting the region in 2 months and am an avid photographer:
I've yet to decide where to stay yet. I'll be there for 4 days. Photographic locations at dawn and dusk are my priority.
Regardless of where I stay, I'd love to hike to an adjoining village, enjoy and photograph the sunset, eat dinner in that village and then take a single fare trip train ride back around 8 PM to my hotel in another village. This would allow me to photograph at least 4 sunsets at 4 different villages.
Is that feasible? How often are the trains and when do they stop running in the evening?
what is the best way to travel from santa margherita ligure to malpensa airport?
Where is there dancing
We will be staying in Miramara hotel , La Spezia, how much is taxi from here to the train station in La Spezia?
Taking my 2 sons for 2 weeks in Italy. Spending 3 nights in Sestri Levante end of May. What 2 must do's in Cinque to make this memorable for my boys (19yrs & 23yrs)
hi I am in nice how much time needed to reach sanrimo bu bus or train
We are 5 adults planning on a visit to the Cinque Terre in September, 2017. At the moment we are thinking of making our daily jump off point either Vernazza or Monterosso al Mare. Will be booking an Airbnb, VRBO, etc. Do you have an opinion of which town would be the most enjoyable to come back to every afternoon/evening.
We have 5 people heading to the Cinque Terre area next year and are wondering about the use of their train system. We really would like to NOT rent a vehicle as we really will not need it at the destinations, just in-between with troublesome parking issues. I understand the convenience of the train within the 5 villages, here are my questions:
- We would like to spend a couple days in Portofino on the way, is it possible to use the train from Genoa airport to Portofino?
- Is it possible to use the train to get from Portofino to Monterosso al Mare?
Thanks in advance for your help, specifics are appreciated!
We are wanting to travel from La Spezia to Pisa on Sunday, 26th June. The only train available seems to be at 05.44 which is a bit early.
Are there any later trains or buses that operate between these two places?
We are deciding on a two / three nights stay to explore Cinque Terre and seeking advice or tips which will help us with our decision.
We arrive to Milan and plan to stay for two nights before exploring. We are not hikers but would like to see and explore Cinque Terre.
Where should we base ourselves, in one of the villages ? or in Levanto / La Spezia ?
Accommodation suggestions are welcome. Thank you.
is there luggage storage at the train station?
We will be stopping in La Spezia and want to go to CT. So exactly what ticket do we need for all day? And do we need a card?
We will need to drop a rental car which will be on a Sunday. We will be leaving Castellina and heading to Manarola. Trying to decide where to drop the car before heading to Manarola. Looking to know if we should drive most of the way or train the entire way. There are 4 of us traveling and each have 1 large piece of luggage. I've considered dropping car in Siena and getting the train with multi stops to Manarola, but i"m not sure is this is the best option. Please advise.
hi we will be visiting over Easter weekend and are wondering if there is any special celebration and time and places of a church we could attend on Sunday?
Does the Vernazza train station have lockers to store some luggage?
