skiing in netherlands

Hi,
I'm going to Leiden University this august as postgraduate student.
i know nothing about europe since i've never been there before, and minim information about netherlands.

i would like to know if i can learn skiing in the netherlands.
if i could , where is it and how far from leiden?
is it only for pro or only-one-time-skiing like me can try it, too?

    Hi

    yes it is possible to learn ski in the netherlands.
    there are several indoor ski pistes to do so
    I think the closest to leiden is situated in Zoertermeer, perhaps 15 - 30 minutes away.

    Indeed, in Zoetermeer is one of the best indoor ski-pistons in Europe. There even have been European championships here (snow-boarding). But ...

    Best skiing facilities and schools, you will find in the European Alpes. Many (and I mean MANY) Dutch people go every year to wintersport there and there are various package-deals that will be interesting to do. Just walk into a travelshop and ask for "wintersport deals". This will be great fun and in a week you will matsre the basic movements of skiing.
