Hi, we're going to the strip Las Vegas on Dec 26 and have been considering to stay in the Marriott chain - those low-cost hotels that are ~1mile away from the strip. But during our search, we stumbled upon Excalibur and Luxor hotels which have much lower hotel rates (i.e. Marriott = 103, Excalibur = 77). Now we're curious to know if there's any catch since these hotels are down at the strip itself.
Also, since we plan to get a car rental, may we ask how much is the going rate for the parking in these hotels? Hope it won't be a fortune though :)
Thank you.. :)

I'm going to Las Vegas (coming from SFO) this December (Dec 19-23 ).
Any suggestion what to do in Vegas other than the usual shows, night life, shopping, and gambling?
I'll be staying with a friend (who lives in Vegas). But of course, I don't want to burden her during my entire stay there.
I don't mind doing a bit of touring myself, or with another friend, from Chicago, who may be flying in as well.
Thanks in advance! :)

I plan to be in Las Vegas September 11 through 19 and I would like to do a day hike on the 18th. I've never been to the area but from Google-ing a bit, Valley of Fire looks interesting.
First of all, what would people suggest, is Valley of Fire a good hike?
Second, I'd like to find some people who know what they are doing in the area and head out with them. Any suggestions?
In November I'm taking my wife to Vegas for a 5 day getaway. We have been to Vegas once before together but it was a business trip and we had our kids. This time its meant to be a romantic and fun time. We will gamble a little, but it wont be the main thing we do. Any suggestions? Things we must do. Any recommendations would be great. This trip is a surprise trip to my wife so I want it took be amazing and unforgettable.

What is your best recommendation to visit the Grand Canyon?
What are the features, shows, we have to see?
A family of 4 will be going to LAS VEGAS in September for the first time.
- What will be weather in September?
- Intend to book a coach for a day tour trip to Grand Canyon
- should we book the tour online as we are from Australia or it is cheaper to get the tour organize when we arrive Las Vegas?
- what will be taxi fare to transfer from Las Vegas airport to LINQ Hotel?
We are staying at the New York New York hotel in September and I have seen on their website that there are entry fees for the pool ($30 per day) and the 3 main bars ($10 each bar). If we are staying at the hotel do we still pay these entry fees.
Many Thanks for any answers you may have
What are the safe hotels with reasonable prices in Vegas.
I am visiting Vegas soon and I have been dying to try one of those outrageous Bloody Mary's with a meat stick or a sandwich hanging from it. The problem is I am going mid week. Are there bars that will serve one in the middle of the week?
We(a couple and a single guy in his 20ies) are going to Vegas december.
What is there to do besides cassinos in these days(Christmas, the whole week before New Year).
Where do you suggest us to go for Christmas diner and lunch? And any suggestion on where to spend New Years eve?
I am traveling to new York on a business trip for 2 weeks.. And planning to extend the trips for 5 days to visit some places in USA.. As I have never been to US before, so bit confused like whether to go to Las Vegas or to Florida..

Want a club that gets busy, plays something other than the techno stuff, and has a diverse crowd, where 40+ is a decent part of that crowd.
My family will be visiting Las Vegas on 31st July. Will be staying at The Linq Hotel. Need guidance from fellow members on:
1. Where to buy for discounted tour deals.
2. Discounted shows and buffet meals.
3. Need advice on transportation from airport to hotel as we have 3 full sized luggage.
is the outer strip safe to live on
Hi. If I book for the week FOLLOWING the actual date for my birthday, I can get some real outstanding rates. The Flamingo, TI and MGM Grand are all within my price range. Of these 3, which is the best bet for comfort, service, etc?
I'm traveling to the US for the first time in April. We have a 2 day lay over in Vegas before we travel to the east coast. I would like some recommendations for day trips from Vegas (i've already included Grand Canyon in the itinerary).
Thanks in advance
I live in Vegas & want to be a part of Questions & Answers for people having questions / needing help. How do I do this?
Hi. As its looking more that its going to be Las Vegas, which property should I lean to? These are all in my price range.
All are on the Strip, which is what I want.
I will be travelling to Vegas for the first time and have limited budget, so I am trying to find the best hotel deal.
But there are so many websites that offer different prices and different hotels that I got confused.
Friends warned me that online deals are deceptive and in reality cost a lot more - can you recommend a reliable booking service that is still cheap?
Hi guys! Me and my friends are coming to Las Vegas in June 16 celebrating my 21st. Neither of us have ever been to America before so we don't know where to start. We're just looking for some advice really. We've booked everything regarding flights accommodation and all our trips. We just want to know is it expensive to eat and drink out? If there's anything you can recommend on where to go and what to see would be fantastic.
Thanks in advanced
Can you recommend accommodation in Vegas that is close to shopping and activities for teens. Pools are not important as it'll be too cold. The kids are 16yr foodie boy and 13yr typical teen girl (who loves to shop).
Where on the strip can i buy this perfume
Can anyone tell me the where the best quiet pools are please
Can you recommend any places to stop over for young kids on a road trip to Las Vegas?
