      First time Hawaii visit

      Kauai Dec 1, 2016 at 11:32 AM

Hello! We are visiting Hawaii for the first time and I am having some logistics problems !
I have booked 5 nights at Disney's Aulani Resort on O'ahu... had too do that part first,
rooms were disappearing. My question is:

      • Kauai before or after O'ahu?
      • Can we fly into Honolulu...then jump over to Kauai ( Hawaiin Air?) then fly directly

back home from there, Kauai - Chicago? Is there a better/cheaper way to do this?

      • Most popular area of Kauai to stay in? East , West, North, or South? for walkability,

      restaurants, beaches, etc?

      Any other tips?

    • Water depth?

by MayaI Online Now Jun 3, 2005 at 10:54 PM

I love swimming and even though I know that Lanikai is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, that doesn't tell me anything about how deep the water is. I hope it's not too shallow. Can you please give me some estimate? In feet, meters, anyhing? Thank you very, very much. Can't wait for my trip! Maya

Planning a May 2005 trip to Oahu. My son is getting married in Lanikai so I would like something near there for 4 people(adults) with kitchen/kitchenette. Not a big spender so something nice but on the middle to lower price range.

What is it like to kayak to the bird sanctuary Islands from the beach? I am a novice kayaker. 1. Can I rent a kayak at the beach? 2. About how far a ride is it? 3. Is the water rough or protected? 4. Are the islands a PHOTGRAPHIC moment? 5. I will be there in May. Is there a best time of day to go?
