Hi all - on my journey along Europe and Asia, I will need to store some luggage for a day (9am - 6pm) near the Koln (Cologne) railway station. Is there such a facility in/near the station?
It would be my first time to travel solo and to be in Germany, My first destination is Siegen and cologne after. Aside from the cathedral what other things to do there? any trips that is organized for tourist to see the city?

We need a nice town/city west of Cologne with good train or S Bahn connections to Koln & Dusseldorf main station/HBF, hopefully within an hour trip. In September there is an exhibition in both Koln and Dusseldorf and the hotels are booked. Normally Dusseldorf has been the choice though, this time, traveling with friends and they should have an interesting town/city to visit when I am at the Messe. Thanks for all your help.
Hi there, I have booked a Stag weekend in Düsseldorf. I want to make it the best I can for the Groom to be. I am looking for activities that will be fitting for the party.More importantly on how to book them as my understanding of the German language is limited.
There will be approx 12-15 going, in August.
The idea I had was something sporty/ adventurous for Friday, a VIP table at a club Saturday, then a chill out on the Rhine Sunday.
Thank you for the help in advance.
A young reporter friend of mine has asked me if any of my friends could help with finding any hotels near ESA astronaut centre in Cologne? (If you watch Sky News, you might recognize Sarah Cruddas.)
What is the best way to get to Cologne round trip in one day from Dusseldorf? I tried bus schedules but there does not seem to be much available. Thought the bus would be different from train travel. Buy tickets ahead or when we get to Dusseldorf? Thank you...................
Hello! Im will be going to the kolnmesse everyday for a week from Koln-Hasaring(and back). How much this ticket will be? is there some kind of pass?
I will be traveling from and to Kolnmesse from Bonn for a week. What is the cheapest way to do this? Is there some kind of pass? I tried the VRS site but i didn't understand my options very well. Maybe someone can help me.-

Staying in Duisburg this weekend and wondering if there are any events going on...? Any local knowledge out there?
Will be driving thru Cologne and want to see the city/sights without dealing with parking problems. Would be staying 2 nights and was wanting to stay at a hotel that is near a metro, bus or tram station. This should have access to the highlights of Cologne. Any help would be appreciated.
I am travelling to dusseldorf from 31 May to 7 June for visiting Drupa Fair. And i am looking to stay somewhere near to Messe or somewhere where i can have a good night life in the evening after the Fair get over after 6 P.M.
So if you can please let me know which area should i live in which can do both purpose.
I read somewhere that Konigsallee & Altstadt are a good place to stay in.
Please note i will not be staying in a hotel as i a looking to book something private rooms or apartments.
I am planning to visit Dusseldorf from May 31 to June 6 to go to this event called "Drupa" its happening at Messegelände,40474 Düsseldorf.
I am planning to book a hotel to stay close to the place where its happening but unable to understand as to where to book the hotel.
If anyone can please help me in the same. I am also looking forward to meet some VT over there.
We are two guys looking for a Twin sharing room.
Hello :) We are looking for a nice place to have some beers different than Alter Market . Thank you for your advice :)
I'm moving to an apartment in grenzstraße, right at Goebenstraße, I've heard a lot of bad things about the area, not being safe and dangerous and high crime rate and stuff, on the other hand, some people say it's not the best place to live, but not as bad as you hear. Since I've already signed the contract and can't get out of it (unless pay three months of rent :O) can I get a realistic review about the area? what to concern? what to worry about?
Can anyone recommend a not too noisy German restaurant in Cologne's city centre/old town for a small VT meeting.
Most of the typical brewing houses get quite noisy on a Friday evening, so that a good talk isn't possible anymore.
I have been for a quiet a few times to this place:
which is nice when one can sit outside in the courtyard, but as the interior is quite small it gets very noisy in there.
So all recommendations are welcome.
I am visiting cologne for 3 days on 20th October 2015. This is my first ever solo trip and am after some tips on where to visit and if there any other solo travellers visiting cologne during this time. I am a little daunted but am hoping that there will plenty for me to do for the 3 days I am there.
In 2 months I will travel to San Francisco. I will live there for 5 months because of an internship.
Now, I am searching for some people for activities like sports, travelling, party etc.
Please contact me if you are interested :-)
Many greetings from Germany
what is the address for QKL station
My daughter and I are visiting Germany in August. We are flying to Dusseldorf, but have purchased rail passes. Our main restriction is time. Is there anything we should make a point to see? Cities we can/should travel to? Thanks for any information!
My son is currently in Bremen in Balladins Hotel, which has no A/C. Apparently temperatures are well above average (90"s). Is there somewhere to buy a fan near the hotel or perhaps in town?
Thanks for any tips!
Hello! Is there any hostel in thecity?
I would be in Attendorn form 7th-26th June 2015 for office work. Hence I would be getting 2 weekends. I am planning to visit Amsterdam on the first weekend (12th June) and Paris on the second weekend(19th June).
Can anybody tell me how do I get to these 2 cities from Attendorn. Somebody told me that there are no buses or trains from Attendorn to go anywhere. Hence I will have to take a taxi to Cologne and from Cologne I can take a Eurorail. Whereas on internet I found that Attendorn has a railway station and there are daily trains from Attendorn to Amsterdam and also to Paris......I am confused!!!
Taxi itself would cost me €250 one way which is too expensive. I am looking at a cheaper public transport option may be a bus or a train. Also do let me know the fares and the best possible option.
I would be getting free from office work at 1.30pm every Friday. Hence any transport from Attendorn around 2.30-3.00 pm would be ideal. And while coming back I would prefer reaching back to Attendorn on Sunday night by 9.00-10.00pm so that I can easily report to office on Monday morning.
Moreover if you know any good budget hotels in 2 these cities that would be great.
Thanks in Advance
In a similar vein to Travelfrosch's question below, I'm pondering the journey from Duesseldorf Flughafen to Aachen.
I know what train I will probably catch (1532) but there is a (very) slim possibility that I might manage the 1432. If I have an NRW ticket, which I can easily buy online, I don't have to buy a ticket for the Air Train from the terminal to Duesseldorf Flughafen railway station (ticket costs 2.50 euro, I think).
But if I buy a NRW ticket online for the 1532 and manage to get to the station in time to catch the 1432, can I use that ticket on that earlier train? I've had a look on DB and can't find anything relevant. I won't be buying an NRW dayticket, just an ordinary one-way fare.
In essence: is a single-journey NRW ticket departure-specific or can it be used on any equivalent train?
Thank you! :-)
I am planning on spending a few hours in Solingen on Sunday 12 July.
I will be travelling by train and am wondering if there are any luggage lockers or left luggage facilities at Solingen Hbf.
