    • Travel to Bernkastel from Trier

      Trier Dec 2, 2016 at 2:01 PM

We want to travel from Trier on Saturday 10 December to Bernkastel and back to Trier. Would like to be in Bernkastel around 13.00 hrs and leave at about 19.00. We shall be visiting the Christmas Market and hope to see the Advent Calendar at 17.30. I have found a return journey using just one bus (No 333) but that only seems to give us 2 -3 hours there. Other journeys seem to involve train, coach, and bus with various changes from one mode of transport to another. Would appreciate any advice and suggestions. Thank you!

      Die Romantische Straße in Bayern

      Frankfurt Nov 16, 2016 at 6:37 AM

I am not sure if it is appropriate to ask these questions here but i would appreciate if you could answer them.
I am planning to spend 4-5 days between Frankfurt-Munich in the beginning of February and cover the romantische strasse as well.
1- Do you think it would be dangerous to do that tour in February as i was hoping to rent a car and drive?
2- Where would you advice me to stop and spend the nights considering i would be stying for 5 nights?
3- If i must buy return tickets which airport would be wise to start the tour?
4- Any special advice that my kids would enjoy?

      Thank you so much

    • Rugen with or without a car and where to stay

      Rügen Aug 4, 2016 at 11:21 AM

We are planning about a week to ten days on Rugen at the end of Aug/beginning of September, if possible, without a car. We like walking, sightseeing, wildlife and birdwatching as well as sampling the local food and drink, of course. Where would be the best place to stay and should we use two bases to get the most out of our trip?

      Rostock Jun 23, 2015 at 12:45 PM

I am planning a trip to Rostock and will be driving from Hamburg Airport. As a foreigner, I am wondering if there are any precautions that I need to take? As I am of indian decent with darker skin tones, I am wondering how favorable people will be while visiting for 3 days - though I have been to major german cities in the past with no issues, it seems as though this part of Eastern Germany maybe different?

And has anyone had favorable experiences staying at Yachthafenresidenx Hohe Dune Hotel in Rostock Warnemunde?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We're docking in Warnemunde on a Monday. I'd love to see Schwerin during our day in the area, but the castle website shows it is closed on Mondays. Does this include the grounds as well as the inside? If we can still see the gardens, it might still be worth a trip.

    • Information about Briggow, Germany (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern)

      Briggow Jan 28, 2014 at 8:44 PM

I will be in Berlin in a couple months and would like to see the little town of Briggow from where my great grandfather emigrated in 1872 after serving in the Franco-Prussian War. My great uncle told me that my great grandfather's family was attached to a large estate with our family having its own five acre plot for its own use. I am interested in seeing Briggow and especially in trying to figure out if a manor house associated with the estate might still be around. I would probably drive a car up from Berlin with my family and stay overnight.

How can I obtain information on the small village of Briggow and local sites there? Any comments, information, or advice?
