Myself and husband, ages 55, are looking for a hotel around a 3 star in American standard. What is important to us is that it is close to an MTR connector. We would like a place for 4 nights that is clean, safe, and a good location. Don't care if it is small and don't want a party place, We are also non-smokers. We plan on having a busy few days seeing a few of the following: Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade , Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery (Man Fat Sze) , Victoria Peak (The Peak), Big Buddha, Lantau Island, Chi Lin Nunnery, Hong Kong Skyline, 10,000 buddha monastery, orchestra of music. Any suggestions for a hotel for two first-timers in Hong Kong?
which 4 things makes ladies market special?
What are the directions from butterfly on prat to ocean park when taking the east TST station? How much the cost?! What is better to take the metro or taxi ?!
I will be in HK for a month (mid-June - mid-July) and am trying to have a few questions answered (I will be in City University housing).
1. Is it easy to obtain an inexpensive smart phone with plan once in HK? Alternatively, could I bring a smart phone and get a sim card for it in HK?
2. Are there wireless connections available in coffee shops, etc? How hard is it to be on the grid?
3. What is the cheapest way to get around? Is there an MTR pass?
Can anyone help me with this?
I will be staying in Regal Oriental Hotel when I visit Hong Kong in December and I need to check-in at 6am and check-out at 5am, but the hotel's check-in and check-out timings are 2pm and 12pm respectively. However, it did state on its website that there's express check-in and check-out counters. Does anyone know how it works and what I have to do? Also, are there any additional charges? Thank you so much for your help!!
What is best way to get from The Salisbury YMCA Hotel to the cruise ships at Modern Terminals Ltd., in Hong Kong?
My Family and I are scheduled to go to Macau-HK this coming May. We arrive at Macau Airport, stay overnight in Macau, then stay in HK for 4 nights and on our last day, go back again to Macau for our flight back home. I wonder where it will be best to book a hotel, considering the following planned itinerary:
1st Night - Macau
1st Day - A.M. Macau
P.M. Nathan Road/Kowloon Side
2nd Day- Causeway Bay/Victoria Peak
4th Day-Ocean Park
5th Day-A.M. Shop for souvenir and give aways
P.M. Back to Macau for flight
I wonder if I can really do this, come from Macau, stay in HK for 4 nights, then back to Macau for my flight back home. Where is the best place to stay, Kowloon side or HK side. On my 2nd day, what is the best thing to do or where is the best place to go? Would I be right to think that it will be cheaper for us, in terms of transportation costs, to stay in HongKong side, Lantau or wanchai area since most of the places I wish to see are in those area and not in Kowloon side?
I plan to see night markets, tourists spots and shopping places in HK.

Does anyone know where I can get a good price for wireless internet service for my laptop using their adapter (not sure what kind...i.e. pci express, usb) they have? I need it for 2-weeks for my stay in Hong Kong. I don't plan on staying at a hotel, but with family members.
Can someone advise how to do above itinerary mentioned? I know the easier way is to take a paid tour but i cannot spend 8hours in the tour and all them take this long. I am looking to do this 3-5 hours tops. Can someone advice itinerary from hyatt regency tsim sha tsui to the cable ride and then up to the statue and perhaps the monastery? Thanks
How do i get to guandong hotel from airport?
Thoughts on how this hotel is and how one can get there from HKG airport? There will be 5 of us, 4 adults and a baby so what is the best way to get there and back from airport.
Also, what all is there to do around there? Is it in walking distance or hitch cab etc?
Also, any veg. food recommendations near there in walking distance?
We'll be there for 2 weeks. All guidance is appreciated. Thank you.
What is a consessionary fare? How does one qualitfy for it?
We are heading over to HK from Oct 4th to the 15th and would be very interested in finding a guide. We are not into organised tourist travel, we like to get out and about and find out about the place we are staying and see villages and meet the real people.
We don't travel many miles to shop, shop, shop although we do a little shopping to take home. We did try this in KL but ended up with someone who treated us like a business deal. We are easy to get along with and don't mind paying for a good guide. We take care of anyone who takes care of us equally.
If you know of anyone who would be interested we would really appreciate it.
I am seeking some advice regarding accommodation; my partner and I are travelling to Hong Kong from Australia in November for leisure/ sightseeing and shopping.
I have been trying to work out where we are going to stay however I am having some difficulty with the different areas/which is better, etc.
So far I have gathered that we want to stay in Kowloon (Mongkok or Tsim Sha Tsui).
I'd like to know if anyone has stayed at The Royal Plaza and whether they can comment on the location/property. I have chosen this property as I have been able to find a fantastic Internet price.
I am also open to recommendations and advice!
Can you please give me the telepone number for the Salisbury YMCA hotel?
Hi all! My husband and I will be staying in Kowloon for 3 days as a stop over and was wondering what we could do in that time frame? We are staying at the Regal Oriental hotel in Kowloon City. We are interested in trying out the local food and visiting markets and shopping areas. I have also read about Victoria Peak. Is it easy to get too? Anything else that is a must see? Basically, we want to see as much as possible!
Thanks in advance!
hi can you advise on prefered currency hk.dollar or us.dollar.
I am planning to stay at a budget accomodation on Nathan Rd in kowloon something like Mirador or Chow king mansions.
I wanted to know if this is tourist season and also if I can bargain the price as well. If so, what would the ideal price be for 1 person with an attached washroom or common/shared washroom.
We are eight adults (four girls and four guys) and are all in tight budget. Can someone out there help us locate a cheap but very central and clean hostel. We certainly appreciate it very much! Many thanks Friends!
I will be in HongKong on 25 dec. Can anyone recommend me seafood restaurants in Kowloon area or in mongkok region. The place can be reach by using MRT and easy to find. This is because i bring my 3 yrs children.

I'll be arriving at China Ferry Terminal from Macau and I'm searching for any bus that brings me to any MTR station between Tsim Tsa Tsui and Mong Kok MTR stations as I'm gonna stay at budget hostel near Mong Kok MTR Station.
Any bus service from China Ferry Terminal to MTR?
Hi! My friend just arrived from hong kong last week. She told me that food was quite costly. Is it true or is it probably because she was clueless on where to go? I'm going there on October and I don't want to be clueless too. help! =P
