    • Older Times in Drogheda

      Drogheda Oct 9, 2016 at 5:50 PM

When I was a child my father took us to Ireland where he was from.
he took us to see our uncle (his older brother) Patrick who lived in Drogheda but the pics I see are not how I remember it, it may be that it was on the outskirts I remember is was very quiet not many dwellings in fact my uncles home was very basic single story dwelling and it had an old stem roller outside.
Just wondered if anyone has any clue as to where exactly this might have been long shot I know!

      Train from Dublin to Belfast

      Ireland Oct 5, 2016 at 10:09 AM

We are going to Ireland in November and will be taking Irish Rail train from Dublin to Belfast. Is it necessary or advantageous to book those tickets in advance? I am a little hesitant to do that and lock into a departure time because we will be taking a bus from Dublin Airport to the Dublin train station. While flight is sceduled to arrive at 7AM who knows when we would eventually get to the station. I am thinking it might just be easier to buy tickets at train station. Would the Dubin-Belfast train be that crowded in November? Any advice would be most welcome.

    • Killiney and Dublin with kids

by Upollenci Online Now Jan 8, 2009 at 4:31 AM

Hi there! I'm planning on staying in Killiney for two weeks next July. I'm travelling with my wife and two daughters 5 and 8, who speak English as a second language. Do you have any suggestions as to activities that can bring them into meeting Irish children their age. I'm thinking of crafts courses or activities they could join every other day.
      Thanks in advance.

      Visiting Dublin - First trip

by Peaudusoie Online Now Oct 9, 2006 at 12:31 PM

I am planning a trip from 11/20 - 11/26 and trying to decide on Dublin. However, I am not sure what is there to do at that time of the year. Is it very cold then? I would like to visit local pubs and restaurants but where is the best place to stay to access the Guiness factory and Waterford Cristal and perhaps to buy good hand made linen?

      Thank you for responses

by sarahansson78 Online Now Jul 23, 2006 at 3:15 AM

Hi! Just want to know how to get from dublin to killiney, and how much it'll cost to go there. I'll be staying at Ashfield house in Dublin, and would like to do a small trip to the coast. Other tips for daytrips would be nice, too! Thanks. /Sara
