I will be on Skyros for 1 week, then go by ferry to Kymi on Evia.
My destination is Karystos.
I planned to stay 1 night in Chalkida, as there will be no busconnection to Karystos from Kymi.
Or will it be better to spend 1 night in Eretria ?
Will the bus from Kymi to Chalkida / Athens stop in Eretria ?
Will the bus from Chalkida to Karystos stop in Eretria ?
Thank you !
I was looking on Viator for Caldera Cruises, and for the sunset cruises with dinner, it's 70€, but someone on there sad not to book online, just book when you get to Santorini as the prices online are almost triple what they normally are.
My question is:
Is this true?
If I wanted to book when I get there, where do I go?
Does anybody know approximate prices on the different sunset cruises?
Also, will be looking to cruise on or around September 10, so as it is technically low season, am I safe to wait to book until I get there? Or is there a good chance that everything will be booked up?
Thanks so much, you guys are amazing.
I would appreciate your help in choosing a hotel in Corfu town. We plan on eating out so we are looking for something that does bed & breakfast, and as I have limited walking abilities close to restaurants would be ideal.
One other question:- has anyone over the age of 75 been successful in renting a car from Corfu airport.
Me again... We have a free day in Athens, and was thinking about renting a car from the airport for about 12 hours... Problem is, we only have a visa debit card... Not credit card.
Does anyone know of any rental agencies at the airport that accepts Debit?
Thanks in advance.
I wonder if it worth to go to Zakynthos to visit Navagio - the beach ship wreck .
Basically I fly to Athens and catch the Bus + ferry to Zakynthos then have to go the other way to Athens where I catch the ferry to Mykonos / Santorini .
As it takes a long time to get to Zakynthos 6/7 hours each way, it is worth to go, or should I just go to the other islands whem i arrive to athens
I will be travelling to Santorini by ferry, which I will arrive at Athinios port. However, my hotel is located at Finikia.
I have checked the bus timetable online, but I could not find a bus stop at Finikia.
Could anyone please tell me which bus stop should I get down?
I am hoping that someone may be able to help me come up with an itinerary please.
I am a single traveller, age 35 and I have just booked my flights to Crete for a ten day trip! Very exciting.
I am struggling to come up with a viable itinerary for my trip and would love any advice from experts on the island.
What I am after:
I like a variety when on holiday, I like to cover a lot of ground and see lots but also have some beach/chill days inbetween. So I want to include a town, villages, the best beaches and harbours/ports.
I love photography, village life and would love to ge some typical Cretian snaps.
I love history, beaches, port towns, hidden gems such as old villages.
I will be on public transport.
I dont like mega touristy places but wouldnt mind seeing this for a small amount of time.
Restaurants cafes and bars are a must.
Happy to stay in smaller cheaper places rather than big hotels.
Would prefer to stay near a beach for most of the trip.
Want to include some typical Cretian villages.
This is my base itinerary below, I have a number of days left over and I am unsure whether it is worth me going to Loutro for a few days?
Really I would like to get an idea of the most scenic places to visit which arent completely 'dead'
Will I have enough time in Chania and Heraklion or have i given them too many days?
I have read about Chrissi Island and would love to have this in the itinerary, but perhaps stay somewhere in the south then head over.
I have read so much and I am so confused by the suggestions, there are so many places to chose from! Any help is gratefully recieved.
Thanks in advance :)

Hello,i and my family wish to travel to Greece for the first time and mostly like to see athen and santorini,as our holiday is at the end of march, and as we are not going to swim in sea,is it ok to visit there specialy santorini in march and is there any tourist in that time to see the beauty athen and santorini?i know its not high season but is there any problem to come there at the end march?
We will stay a few days in Thessaloniki this month and we wonder where we can park the car. I know there are some open air parking lots but I don't know where. Are there parking meters? If so, how do they work? Closed parkings seem to be quite expensive, but perhaps they are safer... I would appreciate any tip, or any link to a website with information on parking (English or Greek).
By the way, I am also looking for a leisure guide, to find out if there is a concert or any kind of event during our stay in the city. Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance
I know that you can use uber in Athens, but I was wondering if anyone has done so, and how was the experience? I know that they use taxis instead of personal vehicles, so I'm hoping uber works like it normally does in the US, where you only pay on your phone and don't have to deal with cash.
Thanks in advance!
I a seasoned European traveler but this will be my first time in Greece. I am looking at going in late September into first week of October. I thought I would start with a few days in Athens to hit the typical locations that you must see the first time in Athens. But then I would like to head out to the islands for a bit of R&R. I like to be fairly active and will do some hikes and generally wander around as I am not one for a schedule. Any suggestions of which islands to check out, things to do and places to hand out with more locals than tourists. I am familiar with the islands that everyone knows such as Corfu, Mykonos and Crete but would not limit myself to them. Always looking for that diamond in the rough.
In the second week of October, we want to go to the gorge by either car or bus. We can take a tourist bus day trip, via to and from the site? And take the ferry, from Agia Roumeli to Sfakia, to meet the bus ride back to Chania, all in one day? Yes If we choose to drive to Omalos, does it become more complicated: staying the night in Roumeli, taking the ferry to Sfakia late the next day, staying overnight there, and then a cab, back to the car, on the third day? We are a couple in our late 50s, no kids. Thanks!
We are planning to visit Meteora on 4th of July by car. We will be leaving Thessoloniki early in the morning and plan to be there around 9:00 or 10:00 AM. It's Sunday so all the monasteries are open, as far as I know. I've read many comments, so I know that 1 day is not enough to visit all the monasteries. But we have a packed schedule and we wanna see/do as much as we can in one day and stay overnight in Kalambaka or Kastraki. My question is : All the monasteries and caves are reachable by car ? Even if not, is there anybody to advise me a full day itinerary/route within Meteora to get most of it, car-foot combined. We are above average walkers and I am asking about driving just to buy us some time.
Thanks in advance
We are planning a trip to Greece next month and I have a few questions.
1. We will fly with Aegean airlines, if possible with hand luggage only. Are they very strict in this sense? Will I be able to carry a bag besides a small suitcase?
Once in Greece we will rent a car and go across Macedonia. There are some "must see" places such as Thessaloniki, Pella, Vergina, Philippos, Kavala, Xanthi... But we dont have a concret plan for every day.
2. We would like to take a boat trip around mount Athos. Is it easy to find tickets from Ouranoupolis?
3. We read recently a report about some excavations in Estagira. Are they worth a visit?
4. We would also like to do some trekking and visit some picturesque villages. Epiro and the Zagorohoria must be wonderful, but I am afraid this would mean long drives. Could anyone recommend some places in central Macedonia instead?
Although we are doing our research, I would appreciate your suggestions.
Thanks in advance
