    It's about 33 miles.

At least 60-70GBP, imo, possibly more (depending on time of day etc).

You can find exemplar rates for 2008 here, to give you an idea:

A taxi for around 12 miles cost me 24GBP last year. Rates don't vary a great deal across the UK, and petrol here is very expensive.

    Good point.

Rodaroo: pre-booked (by phone or online) 'mini-cabs' work to a slightly lower rate than those who can 'tout for hire' (i.e. which are allowed to stand at taxi ranks).

Both mini-cabs and taxis are tightly regulated in the UK.
