Hi, what's the best currency to use in Hurghada for the shops and bazaars please? I was going to take Egyptian Pounds but do they accept sterling/euros/US$ as well? I know the visa is priced in US$.
Also, we'd like to do a day trip to Luxor - is it better to book from the UK or through the hotel once there? Can anyone recommend a company they used?
How much is a current visa at Hurghada airport - January 2016
Hi is anyone out in Hurghada now or has been recently - just wondering what the current situation in with regard to security at hotels/airport. Does it feel safe? We're due to go in March but after the attack on tourists at Bella Vista hotel yesterday we are slightly concerned. I know nowhere is 100% but would appreciate any feed back on how people are finding it out there at the moment. Thanks
Can anyone recommend reliable and good price for transfers to and from Hurghada airport to Jungle Aqua Park hotel please?
Are these the only locations in Hurghada?
El Nasr Road.
Redcon Mall Sheraton Road.

Or could I open a bank account in Egypt and transfer money?
I'm due to fly out to Sharm/Hurghada in March, but would like to know how safe it is to travel around Egypt. Having only visited Sharm, I am keen to explore more of the country. I'm aware of flights from Cairo, Hurghada, Sharm. Would someone be able to advise the best method of transport for the following: Marsa Alam, Aswan, Alex, Luxor, Cairo.
Travelling on Christmas Eve is this part of Egypt safe. Government website not very clear only mentions Sharm
I landed in Sharm El Sheikh from Cairo and hardly see anyone here & it is very dull.
My resort is like a ghost-town.
Just wanted to know if hurghada is the same as Sharm El Sheikh at the moment
or the place still has lot of tourists.
Appreciate a quick reply from you guys so i can make arrangements.
Thanks a lot

I am travelling to Hurghada alone in 6 weeks time. I guess it was a sort of spur of the moment booking, but now I cant wait! I have been to egypt 5 times already, butthis is my first time travelling abroad alone, and I really want to experience more of the real egypt. . I've done nightlife, sitting by the pool in a resort, swimming with dolphins, go karting, watersports, I've even had a tattoo done across there. But I want to see the stars in the middle of the desert at night, I want to see dolphins in the sea where they belong.... Basically, i'm only staying a week this time round, I'm not on a huge budget so any trips involving flying are out the window this time around.This is more of a test the waters trip to see how i go travelling alone, but i'd like to squeeze in some adventures, just wondering if it's safe to do it alone as a 28 year old scottish female. I plan to only book through tour guides going in groups, I wont be out wandering anywhere alone, I'm quite a sociable person I dont intend to spend a week in silence hiding away.There are so many scaremongers out there, and I've already been told a million times how "dangerous" egypt is, but from past experience there, its nowhere near as bad as people think as long as you are sensible and careful. Anyway, If any of you lovely people can suggest some fun, must do/ must see/reasonably priced adventures I can squeeze into my trip, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :)
Can I get a visa for Hurgarda at the airport or do I need to get one in advance.
hello I am travelling to Hurghada soon, will be staying for 2 weeks with wife and son.
could anyone give me a rough idea of spending money needed?
we are staying all inclusive but will not remain in the hotel for the full 2 weeks.
Also I understand that we can only take £5000 LE each in to the country so guessing the country is relatively cheap.
thanks for your time.
how much should it cost from Cairo airport to Movempick hotel
is it safe to go here
I've already searched on trip advisor and throughout the internet for reliable Activities and Tour Agencies in Hurghada but it's hard to get consistent and reliable views. I'm looking to take part of the following:
- a bus trip to Cairo with sightseeing of the Giza Pyramids;
- a trip to the Gifton Islands/Orange Bay or any other suggestions that may top these two;
- Quad biking with a taste of the Bedouin tea and village + camel riding;
These are the main ones.
Also, do you suggest booking this online or booking them upon arrival?
Has anyone been to dream beach in Hurghada? It is located in the village road/el kawther area and across the road from bulls restaurant.
Please let me know the price per day, is it touristy or local? etc
Which is the best beach to visit for the day or few hours, in Hurghada that is not full of local families but mainly tourists? I am staying in an apartment and need to relax so need a quiet stretch of beach.
Hello! Me and my boyfriend are planning to go on holiday to Hurghada in June 2015 but I’m a bit concerned about whether this is the best time to go to Egypt specially because we also want to visit the pyramids in Cairo. We are thinking of joining an excursion from Hurghada to Cairo by bus and according to what I read it’s 7 hours distance and I am a bit scared of what could happen during the journey.
Anyone who have been recently to Hurghada and Cairo can tell me if it is safe to visit? Did you witness the downsides of the political distress and protests?
Also, provided that we do go to Egypt in 2015 do you recommend buying activity packs from UK agencies or by contacting the local ones?
Luxor and Karnak.. is it safe????

Do I need to take a mosquito repellent.
What type of electric plug adaptors do I need
What's the best trips to go on and what ones should I avoid
Can you recommend a decent bottle of wine, and the cost
Is there sail boats or cats for hire
Are there plenty of comfortable sun beds or should I take a li-lo
Is there any natural shade on the beach.
Any other tips would be appreciated, thank you.
Travelling from UK to Makadi Spa, so I will need a visa which I've been told will cost $25 from a kiosk at the airport but will two passport size photos be required as well as my documents?
