Coming from UK what are the best night clubs to visit (group of 6 or 7)?
Will the Reeperbahn be busy between 19-22nd December since it is near Christmas or will it still be quiet because it is weekdays
Does anyone know of a cheap room tomorrow Saturday in Hamburg? My son is on his way to Berlin from Hannover so wants to stop off Hamburg. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks.
Hello friends, could someone give me a hint which is the easiest transport from Steinwerder cruise port to Hamburg city centre . I don,t wish to use a taxi, we prefer public transport. Thank you, Regards,
How do you get from the central train station to Hamburg airport? We are staying at the Ibis Airport Hotel and arriving at the train station. Would it be easier to go directly to the Ibis Hotel? The hotel does have free shuttle service to and from the airport. Thank you..........................
Planning a week in Hamburg over Chrismas. Any idea for one or two day trips (by train or bus)?
I was thinking of Kiel on the "city" side, or Cuxhaven on the "sea" side....
I know, it's winter, and there is a lot to see in Hamburg..., but I wouldn't mind a day somewhere else.
I plan to visit Hamburg on my way to Berlin this winter. But i have just 3 days . Do you think it is enough to get impression? and my German is not much good, do you think that locals still prefer if I speak bad German than good English?
I (and two friends) will be staying for 5 days in a budget hotel on Stresemannstrasse in Altona Bahrenfeld. On most days, I think we travel into the city centre by bus, using the M3 Metrobus. Question: how do we buy our HVV Tageskarten? Is there any ticket-automat at 'Bushaltestelle Schützenstraße (Mitte)'? Are there ticket-machines on board Metrobuses? Will it upset the other passengers and the driver if we buy our Tageskarten from the driver...of what is supposed to be a high-speed bus service?
I am assuming that HVV tickets (as is the case in other cites) are now date&time-stamped at the point of issue, so you can't buy tickets ahead e.g. a day in advance.
Note that because I can't guarantee that the three of us will stay together all the time, I do not want to buy HVV Gruppenkarten.
Hi everybody, I am flying to Hamburg at the beginning of May for 4 nights. I've never been there and would like to get a nice impression of the city, where it is better to stay? In the centre or in which suburbs? I've found nice private b&b but cannot evaluate if the location is convenient for sightseeing, shops or restaurants. Many thanks in advance to everybody willing to answer me.
where can i find a cheap hostel around 5 - 10 euros in Hamburg??
Anyone to tell me an hotel in Hamburg, at a low price but suitable for us, a couple 60 years old?
I am going back to Hamburg in mid-May, for 5 days, having been persuaded by two former work colleagues (who have no German and have never visited Hamburg) to act as translator, organiser and guide. So this may be the first of a few questions...
Last time I walked through the Elbtunnel, it was being refurbished and ther were no cars. I assume the work is now complete (correct?) and that we would be sharing the tunnel with cars. Anyway, has anyone any suggestions for what to do once you emerge from the tunnel ion the southern bank of the Elbe? Last time, I took in the view of the city across the river, walked past the various works entrances to Blohm + Voss, and looked for a memorial to the prisoners from Neuengamme who had worked as forced-labourers in the shipyards (I never found it. Does it exist? Where exactly is it?), My main question: Is there any 'route' back to 'central' Hamburg, involving a reasonable walk and/or public transport, other than a stroll back through the tunnel?
whats the best to do and see in hamburg germany between march 16, 2015 to march 24, 2015? any suggestions?
I am going to Hamburg at the 27th of December. I was wondering at which club i have to go to (techno). I don't want to go to the Reeperbahn of other touristic places, but to a club where the Hamburg people are going to. And maybe you know some nice places to go with new years eve?

I am going to Hamburg for 3 days.
I am also interested in the Chrostmas markets.
I would like to go to Bremen for one day to see the market and the city.
My plan is; arrive on Friday, see the city and the market. Saturday go to Bremen and come back. Sunday, continuing seeing Hamburg.
Do you think I have enogh time for the two cities? Or should I just stay focused in Hamburg?
Advice for the three days are welcomed.
Anyone for a beer?
Is this a good location to stay?
20097 - HAMBURG
I'll be in Hamburg for 2 weeks for a business visit. I'm really looking to explore the city and places around it.
Looking for suggestions on attractions, must-see places, pubs & bars. Cheers!
My partner and I will be visiting Hamburg from 12th-15th December, to experience the Christmas markets and generally sight-see. We would like to stay in a reasonably-priced hotel, in the city but don't mind where as long as it's safe and convenient for the main sights. Could you please let us know of any recommendations - vielen Dank!
Hello, I am a ship captain and I will visit Hamburg soon.
I know Hamburg is the maritime capital of Germany, so i would like to get reccomendations for marine related sightseeing places and especially marine related shopping places (memoribles, gifts, etc.) within Hamburg.
I already know there is a maritime museum, u-boat museum and Rickmers ship museum.
If your are also marine related person, we can meet and travel around Hamburg together also :))
Look forward your replies.
Arriving by Cruise Ship, what's the best/easiest way to get to the Train Station, 4 people travelling.
I will be visiting Hamburg in September with a group of friends. There will be 4 of us going and we are in the age bracket of 25-29. We are coming over to catch a football match and enjoy some nightlight in a European city. I am obviously aware of the Reeperbhan and have an idea of what it could offer. But what else does the city have to offer at night? What other areas should we be looking at? We will be looking for good pubs to sample some fine German beers then as the night goes on we will be looking for bars and then nightclubs.
Is there more to the Reeperbhan then just the red light area and strip clubs?
What time is the busiest and best time to go out? (I.e is it like the UK where places shut at 3am?)
What is a must see/experience in Hamburg for a weekend for a group of friends?
Are there any records remaining intact from 1852-1883 in Hamburg?
we are a group of 10 people disembarking on a sunday in stpauli then off to a football game at 3.30 before going to hamburg airport to fly home. our problem is what to do with the luggage as we don't really want to carry it around with us. someone told us we would have to go to airport first to drop off luggage but can anyone suggest anything else please
I have previously posted this in the little used Norderstedt Forum where there are no active members - it is not a tourist destination!
We have a very longstanding friendship with a local family and have made many visits to Nordferstedt. and also have friends in Hamburg.
We always drive to Germany from the UK but make good use of public transport for local visits.
We are planning to visit our now elderly friend who no longer has guest accommodation at her home in Norderstedt so we will need an hotel base.
No VT Reviews - only TA opinions.
I would much prefer personal recommendation from a member - perhaps one who like us visits Norderstedt to see family or friends, or on business..
Not looking for budget or luxury, just a good, comfortable middle range base for 4/5 nights.
I would be so grateful for any advice.
What is the most inexpensive way
I have booked the flight So I would appreciate any suggestions of a nice little place within walking distance and not expensive , Also if you think I should know any useful information thank you :)
Does anyone know a toddler-friendly restaurant in Hamburg? One of our favourite places here in Mannheim has a large section for kids, with a small slide, lots of toys and some extra low tables for the parents to sit close-by.
Is there anything similar in Hamburg, apart from MacDonalds?
And does anyone have any suggestions of what to do with an almost three-year-old? Wunderland may still be too exciting. Is there an indoor playground maybe?
