    • Copenhagen airport, terminal 2 ?

      Copenhagen Feb 6, 2017 at 9:54 PM

Hello, sorry if it's stupid Q, but I didn't find info on it.
Does terminal 2 is connected to terminal 3 ? I have a very early flight and I will stay at the Hilton at terminal 3.
Can I just walk early from the hotel to terminal 2 or I need to take the terminals bus?
      Thank you.

      Thoughts on Odense? One-night stopover

      Odense Mar 1, 2016 at 2:33 AM

In late May I'll be attending a conference in Copenhagen. As I haven't been to Denmark since I was a teen, I'm considering a stopover on the way for a glimpse at another Danish city.

Travel is by train and there are two potential routes between Hamburg and Copenhagen. On the way TO Copenhagen I will be taking the direct ICE via the Puttgarden-Rødby ferry (this sounds exciting), after a two-day stay in Hamburg - this has already been booked and settled.

For the way BACK I am considering the other route via Fyn and Fredericia and then south on the mainland. The idea is hopping over from Copenhagen in the morning, booking a hotel in "stopover city" for one night, some sightseeing in the afternoon and next morning, and then continuing the long ride home around noon the next day.

Cities along the route are Odense, Fredericia and Kolding, so these are the options in question. Among these, Odense looks most appealing to me at first sight - I am interested in historical architecture, cities/towns, churches, castles/palaces, maybe a museum (not at all into nightlife).
      What do you think?

How to get to Kerteminde without a car?

      Kerteminde Jun 14, 2015 at 12:34 PM

We have heard about the Fjord and Baelt Center in Kerteminde and my daughter is thinking of going there. But she won't have a car. Taking the train from Frankfurt to Odense is something we found, or is a train to Copenhagen better?Or flying from Frankfurt to Copenhagen, that's another possibility.
But then there is the difficult part, how to get from there to Kerteminde?
The Fjord and Baelt website doesn't give any information other than parking, so I suppose there is no train. Is there a bus?
Or is renting a car the only way to reach the centre?

      Thank you for any information.

      Odense before Christmas market

      Odense Jun 21, 2014 at 5:06 AM

Is it worth to stay couple of nights in Odense a week before the opening of Christmas market? or during this very time the town, especially the old centre, will be stuffed by trucks, boxes and constructions for CM preparations? I had such experience before, and it made walking and wandering around a city not as pleasant as it could be..(just have to tell in advance, parking problems are not a point: I'll travel by public transport)

      Ærø Jun 7, 2014 at 11:06 AM

We will be visiting Aeroe for 4 days, staying about 4 km outside of Aeroskobing. It looks like we probably need to rent a car, given spotty bus schedules (bus stop is 3 km from our lodging). Any suggestions?

      Ferry to Aero

Is there a car ferry from Fynshav to Aero? I'm trying to put together a route to go to and leave the island at different spots. We are (so far) thinking of arriving at Aero from Aarhus and continuing on to Odense (via Svendborg) and then on to Copenhagen.

    • Trying to plan a trip to Odense...need LOTS of help!

      Odense Sep 27, 2010 at 8:27 AM

      Hi all,

New here, and frankly quite new to travel in general. I've never left the states, and after getting out of a long term relationship, I think it's time I do. My great grandfather came to America from Odense; I want to find out who I am, and where I'm from.

Being new to international travel, I don't know where to start when planning this trip. Here is what I know...

      * I'd like the trip to last for a total of two weeks.
      * I'd like to spend the majority of time in Odense, but perhaps take some time to check out other interesting nearby areas.

Money is a big concern, and I want to be able to do this as inexpensively as possible, but without sacrificing my own comfort. Thus, I need suggestions on -

      * Travel
      * Lodging
      * Food (would like to splurge a bit on this...)

With that said, what should I know about Odense/Denmark/traveling abroad in general that I probably don't at the moment? I plan on visiting at the beginning of December; is this a good/bad time of the year to visit?

Any and all help is MUCH appreciated!

Hi everyone! I am new to this forum and hope to get some information about finding temp housing in Odense..My hubby and I are looking for either a private room (furnished) or small apartment to rent up to 6 months, starting in beginning of June'09. We would consider anything reasonable and would appreciate any information or direction to local site, etc; (for now we speak only English..but keen to learn Danish in future). Many thanks:)

2nd question: Is renting (and lifestyle in general) cheaper in Aarhus then Odense? Which one do you like better (just curious)? All opinions are welcome!

Hi, I will be in Odense for a month. How is the nightlife there? Which are the best bars/clubs and which nights are the best to go? I'm hoping to meet some locals so that I can get a better perspective of Odense as I may stay there for a longer time next year. Cheers, Marl

I was recommended this city as a smaller, kinder, more hospitable alternative from Copenhagen and was curious when the best time to visit might be to enjoy the nightlife and meet the locals?

I guess when the university starts up (September?) and on the weekend?

      Odense May 29, 2005 at 11:28 AM

      Hi all,
Though this isn't the most active forum, I was hoping to get some help. I am moving to Odense in August and have 2 questions:
      1) Where can I find out about a realistic range of prices for an apartment? My wife and I want something with at least a living room, bedroom and office that is nice... and lots of windows! :) Is there a newspaper I can look at or can someone just give me a rough estimate of prices?
      2) We are also going to buy a car. My wife is German and I am wondering if it is cheaper to buy in Germany than Denmark?.... this may be a tough question to answer but any help would be great.

okay, if it turns out that I get some responses, I am sure I'll have plenty more questions in the next couple weeks...

    • Apartment in Odense

      Odense Nov 9, 2004 at 7:52 AM

Hi, The lab secretary has found a 120 kvm apartment with 3 rooms, tv and internet connection for us (me, husband and one-year -old child). It is in a 2nd floor, overlooking a park. The price is DKK 7000 including water, heat and electricity. Does it sound reasonable or very expensive? How much can water, heat and electricity cost? It sounds really expensive to me... Should I tell her to rent it? She says we can get out of the lease with one month notice if we want. Thanks! Dolores.
