    • Kid friendly things to do on way to and in Myrtle Beach/Garden City area

Myrtle Beach May 17, 2016 at 10:35 AM

We're driving from Chicago to Garden City, SC (20 miles from Myrtle Beach) this weekend. We'll have kids ranging from 7 to 2 1/2. We'd like to spend an afternoon doing something fun on the way down to break up the trip a little. And we're also looking for suggestions in the Myrtle Beach/Garden City area, especially rainy day stuff, as the ocean and pool will probably take care of the nice days. We were thinking of stopping in Smokey Mt. Nat'l Park, at the north visitor center, near Gatlinburg. Does anyone have any specific suggestions for easy hikes or anything to do fairly close to the visitor center. We'll only have the 7 and 4 year old with us on the way down.

Antiquing and eating in the Branson area

      Branson May 19, 2016 at 1:43 PM

I'm driving my parents to Branson to enjoy a few days of shows and shopping. The only reason I'll be there is the drive them around. I'd really like to explore some small towns to antique and enjoy local food while they do their thing. Any suggestions of some out of the way places or hole-in-the-walls?

    • 6 Days in Denver

      Denver 23 hours ago

Hey...My husband, daughter (6 1/2) and myself will be traveling to Denver for the first time next month. Ideally, we'd like to visit: Boulder, Ft Collins, Estes Park, Red Rock Park and Denver as well. I was hoping for some pointers on where to go specifically within these cites? As of now, we've booked a hotel in Lone Tree, but I feel the daily commute would be exhausting. Thoughts? Is Lone Tree close to thriving, lively parts of Denver? Luckily, we can amend our reservation and book a few hotels/ Air BNB in each location (if necessary) I am wondering where it would make sense to stay if we decide to stay sleep in location? If Denver is the answer, which specific neighborhood? We would like do some fun, family friendly activities as well as some adult outings for us. Any specific tours, festivals, areas to check out? We would love to go hiking and be outdoors, too. Visiting 6/28 - 7/3. If there are specific events not to be missed, please do share. Appreciate your assistance! - Edie

    • Aerial tour and Glacier landing in Denali

      Alaska May 20, 2016 at 5:49 PM

      1) Friends have suggested to take an Aerial tour and Glacier landing in Denali, from Anchorage. Is it really something not to be missed ? Our plan is arriving in Anchorage 3rd June @ noon, explore Anchorage & Denali. Have to reach Seward on 6th June, to catch the 9 pm Cruise from there. We have already planned to do visit the Matanuska glacier, Lake Eklutna, during our 2 day stay Anchorage. 2) How long would visit/hike of the Matanuska glacier take ?

      Hi Everyone,

A friend and I are looking for a nice hotel in the Franconia area for 5-7 nights at the end of October. She was suggesting the Best Western White Mountain Resort - has anyone any experience of this? The reviews on Trip Advisor seem quite mixed. I'd prefer to stay somewhere with at least 20 rooms as personally I don't like the feeling that I'm staying at someone's house in a smaller place (too many B&B experiences over the years!).

Oh and ideally we'd like a room each for under150 each a night if possible. Is that asking too much??

      Thankss in advance :)
