Would you pls. help me to make my tour plan - in which order the above locations to visit ? Is there any other good places that I missed above?
Thanking you in advance.
I am planning to take a bus between Thursday midnite to 1:30am from the Inter State Bus Station at Kashmir Gate to the airport. Can I just buy the bus ticket at the bus terminal just before bus departure or do I have to buy ticket a day in advance to ensure seating. How far will the bus stop from Terminal 3, walking distance? or need to take a taxi? Thank you.
I intend to visit North India from New Delhi in December with my husband and two kids .Can u recommend a reliable tour operator and a nice 3 star hotel with wifi access and other facilities (comfortable family rooms/ hot water/bed and breakfast/store, room for luggage, airport pickup ) near shopping centers in New Delhi?
Someone of you have rented bike in Delhi?
It's too circular problematic the city?
It is safe to leave it parked while visiting a place?
Do you have any indication of rent-bike stores?
Thank you and good travel for all
May i know is Delhi airport usually having frequent flight delays in the second week of December? Because i have an outgoing flight from Delhi to Hyderabad at 9 pm plus, arriving in Hyderabad at 11.50 pm to connect to Tigerair flight from Hyderabad to Singapore at 1.40 am. I do not want to be late for checking-in to Tigerair flight due to winter weather.
What part of Delhi would you recommend to stay in?
I like to stay in an area with some cafe/restaurant/bar choices.
It does not have to be upscale.
I just like to be able to wanter around the streets at night.
During the day i will have my bicyclke, so I can get around quickly.
Hi guys, I'm in the very early stages of planning for a month or so I would like to spend in India. For now I've done the basic research on Delhi, Agra and Varanasi which is what many people are able to do in around 4-5 days. I'd like to take my time on this trip so I'll probably spend 3-5 days at each of these places which leaves me with plenty of time to spare. I would like to know if anyone can recommend any other places nearby or in between that I might want to include.
Right now I'm only interested in this part of India, I might go as far as Kolkata but right now I can't be sure.
I'm still a little confused about the train situation, if I really need to book in advance or if I can get tickets on the ground once I'm there on the day, or a few days before I travel. Having to book in advance makes it difficult for me since I prefer not to have a set number of days at any one place in case I decide to spend more time somewhere else.
Hi, I have a question regarding connections between T3 and T1D. Can anyone please give me an idea of how to go from T3 arrivals to T1D departure. I will be arriving in T3 at night (around 11.30 PM) and have a connecting flight from T1D (around 5 AM). I heard that there is a connecting shuttle service between the two terminals. Can someone please advise where to get it from, and whether the journey can be done from outside the airport premises using a private taxi. Never thought I will be asking a question on this forum regarding my home country, but seems like things have changed a lot since the last time I travelled through Delhi domestic airport! :)
We are planning a short trip to Delhi. We would be doing the local sightseeing to places like lotus temple, Red Fort, Qutub Minar, OLd Fort, Humayun's tomb. We are looking to book a tempo traveller for our local sightseeing. Is the tempo traveler comfortable, as i am booking for the first time. Read the reviews of http://tempo-traveller.com is their service good. We would also go to shimla, kullu, Manali from Delhi can anybody suggest a good itinerary for that.
Looking for Travel companion
to Golden Triangle : Delhi-Agra - Jaipur with me during from 19/07/2016 to 26/07/2016
I found a fast train in the morning that leaves from Delhi at 6: 35 a.m. and arrives in Jaipur at 10:30 a.m. Is there one that leaves around 6:00 in the evening that takes about the same time to return to Delhi? I'm a little confused because I thought I saw an express train, but either it only leaves in the morning or the evening one has been discontinued.
Also, though I would like to visit the Amber fort, it appears it is not in Jaipur, but out a ways and would be a day trip in itself. I am particularly interested in the City Palace and especially the Chandra Mahal. In your opinion, is it still worth going to Jaipur without seeing the Amber Fort, bearing in mind that I will see most things in Delhi, Haridwar, and Agra?
OR, with my 10-day actual visiting time, do I forget Jaipur altogether as there would be enough to see in Delhi, Agra and Haridwar? Is there a beautifully decorated palace in Delhi like Chandra Mahal I can see instead?
I hesitate about purchasing tickets internationally online, and have heard that there can be problems and confusion with train ticket purchases in India. Am I better to wait until I get to India and then purchase, or will seats be taken? This would be for a day-trip to Hardiwar and back during the week.
I have heard the river is cleaner and the area is more beautiful in Haridwar. Since it is just a day trip, it is also that I can get to either as quick as I can. Which is better just for traveling to?
I have never been to India so either would be quite something for me.
I will be in Delhi 9/22-10/2. I see it's hot, but the online weather prediction tables I've looked at show immense rain in September, but little in October. I'll be traveling on the cusp, so to speak. Any suggestions of what to wear? Light clothing of course, and I want to cover myself as I will be walking about most of the day. I will hydrate myself intermittently.
This will be vacation for me so casual is fine. I will bring a small umbrella. What about a rain poncho? What about just getting wet? I come from Southern California and have hear of "rain", and even seen it in films! :-) In all seriousness, in Los Angeles, 5 minutes after it rains, the sun appears and dries it out and you would never know it had rained. I suspect India has the more lingering kind. I've never been to a really humid climate.
What about foot wear? I want to bring comfortable walking shoes, but are they going to be too hot, and are they just not suitable for the rain? I'm not a big sandal fan since they are not normally reinforced and good for long distance walking.
I plan not to die walking about most of the day. I hope that will be the case, if I plan well.
We want to travel to Delhi n stay at Karol bhag, require to now some good decent hotels at Karol bhag centrally location not very far from airport ( 10-15 km ok ) and shopping area. Most importantly reasonable priced and may be with drop at Airport

Still deciding on day trips. Everyone approves of Udaipur, but suggests I stay several days. That is something I have to think about. I am sure it is worth it, but I would like to spend less time traveling between places and switching sleeping accommodations. I understand, as well that there is no night train from Udaipur to Delhi.
With that in mind, what do you all think of A day trip to Jaipur? Can I do that in a day? It is not as far. Are their night trains back and forth for Jaipur?
Please let me know your thoughts.
How long in advance should I buy a ticket? I am not visiting India until the last week in September.
Do I buy online or at the station?
I will have 9 maybe 9 and 1/2 sightseeing days in delhi.
I am staying at a cheap hostel.
There is probably enough to do in Delhi with regular side trips such as Agra, I imagine.
However, I have heard of people making a day trip to Udaipur by taking an overnight sleeper train.
I have never been to India so on the one hand, everything in Delhi will be special to me. On the other hand, I have heard Udaipur is manificent.
Is it too much to do to visit Udaipur on such a short trip? What does a sleeper cost aproximately?
I am looking for day trips from Delhi.I will be in Delhi the last week in September and first week in October. I prefer to travel by train, but will take a bus when needed.
Any facilities in the lounge?
I'm going to Singapore in March. Looking at the flight possibilities I was thinking about one with a 13hour layover in Delhi (DEL Airport).
The flight would arrive at 10AM and leave at 11PM, on a Saturday (March the 19th)
I was hoping this would leave me enough time for a quick look at the Taj Mahal but it doesn't seem to be possible. Therefore I'd like to know if I'd have enough time to get into the city and have a look at some touristic spots.
Also, I'm French so I'd need to get a transit visa and go through the customs, which can be time consuming.
Looking forward to having your thoughts, Romain
Later this year I am planning a trip to Northern India, taking in Delhi, Agra and Varanasi as well as visiting a charitable project in Dharamsala. Here in the UK I run a Brownie unit, the equivalent of an Indian Bulbul unit, for girls aged 7-9. I would love to be able to get in touch with a Bulbul unit in one of these areas, so that my girls can write letters to their Indian counterparts, and hopefully I can also visit the unit during my travels.
So does anyone have any contacts in the Girl Guides or Girl Scouts in Northern India? I've tried going through the 'Bharat Scouts & Guides' website to no avail. Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Can somebody please confirm ? I am trying to book few hours at Eaton hotel inside the airport, but want to find out the exact departure location for the Air India flight. Thanks.

Does anyone have any ideas of places that will welcome foreigners to help out? Or just any shelters you have heard about in general?
