Hello, We have one day in Split on our cruise ship and wonder what would be the best things to do and see whilst we are there? Many thanks in advance.
anybody know when the Diocletian Days festival is in Split for this year?
I read that it happens usually in august.
Hi all :)
I'm going to Split in mid October with my son for a week.
Firstly - should we only have accommodation in Split and then settle for day trips; or should we try to stay some where else too? Like a some days on an island or a village…something off track?
Then - I really like to focus on kid friendly activities and nature, something off track would be nice too, something to challenge my boy a bit :) Trying to avoid mass tourism a bit. We'll have to check out some of the amazing islands - but which ones?
Hope to get some hints - thanks a million!
I will be attending Ultra fest this year in July in Split..Any fellow travellers interested in a meet up whilst there?
I am in Split on 16th July and the rest of the itinerary isn't final.
27 year old guy btw
This is real headache - most providers does not allow this route at all, while Enterprise asks 1000Euro one-way addition.
The idea is to combine two groups: one party takes a car in Sofia and passes it to the second party in Split. The second group drives back to Sofia and returns the car. There are some issues like border crossing and insurance but all solvable, imho.
We need to start from Split on Oct 8 2016 and be in Sofia on Oct 14, 15 or 16. So that if anybody plans to make the same route in reverse, he/she is welcome to join us. You can drive from Sofia to Split with ETA on Oct 8 or you can take the car on Oct 14.15,16 and start towards Split.
Call me on the site and we will exchange emails/phones.
May I wish all of you a good trip.
Hi.. I am visiting Split with my family in June (5 of us). Can someone suggest which area we should be staying. Also any tips on good apartments would be welcomed.
Do you have to buy a ticket for the museum or is it free to enter? If yes,how much does it cost?
What can I expect to pay for two bed apartment to use as base to see the wonderful sights of Split and Croatia
We are going to Trogir with my family and with my friend. I've seen that there are some bars in Trogir, but is there any nightclubs? I know that there is a club in Ciovo called Club Monacco, do you know something about that? How far is Ciovo from Trogir by walk? And we are 17. I will turn 18 in September. Is there any chance that we can go into these clubs,or we can buy alcohol? I don't know how strict it is in Croatia.
thank you for your helping! :)
Thinking to go to Split, Croatia on the coming Wednesday 17/6-20/6, mostly aiming for Sunbath, watersports, hke and clubs. Please contact with me of interested :)
Can I find one on the day I visit? Will there be some in front of the Palace? Thanks so much!
We are planning a day-trip in Brac, coming with our car from Split in the morning, and then exiting the island in the afternoon with the Sumartin ferry. Will we need to come to Sumartin very early in order to catch the ferry?
Hi, can someone tell me if the Hvar town market stalls at night still operate in October, and also Jelsa stalls do they operate in October at night
I am a brand new member. We will be spending a week in Hvar and another in Korkula within furnished apartments in May. Any suggestions on:
1. what sorts of day boat trips and island trips to take with our interest in culture and nature,
2. whether we need a car or can get around via local buses,
3. what the local grocery store options are or if we should just be planning on eating out. If we should be eatting out, what good inexpensive restaurant options are available?
Thanks for any information you can provide.
Dear Hvar experts,
We are planning a rental car trip on early September.
Part of our trip would be from Split to Hvar to Dubrovnik.
I thought that we should take the ferry from Split to Stari Grad, and take the same ferry from Stari Grad to Split.
Then I found that there are other ferries from Sucuraj to Drvenik, which might be less crowded and less time to land and less driving time to Dubrovnik.
Do you think this is a good idea?
Thank you in advance.
Can someone give me more historical detail. Was it built after the San Marco clocktower in Venice c. 1490? Who built it? What was the reason or inspiration? Thanks for any help, Stefan
We are a family of 4 going Island hopping. First stop Murter then hoping to sail to Levrnaka. Apparently there is a camping site there run by the owners of the restaurant. Does anyone have any experience of this? We have been told the best boat to get there is Barbarinac?
We are landing in Split on Thursday at 1400. We are keen to get to Murter as soon as possible. Can anyone help with Bus times directions etc? Would really appreciate some up to date info from an expert!
We want to show the kids something other than beaches. Is there somewhere on Hvar which shows how lavender is farmed or cheese is produced? Something along those lines. A nice educational excursion is what we are looking for.
Arriving by train in Split. How to do I get to Hotel Eden from train station and what is the expected cost to get to the hotel?. Thank-you
I am staying in an apartment in Trogir for a week in August and was wondering if anyone would be able to give me some advice on a few things?
1 - I am going with family and a friend, I don't plan to spend much time with family of an evening, was wondering how much money I would need for the week for mainly cigarettes and alcohol? I am not a huge drinker but do like to drink a fair amount whilst on holiday and smoke a lot, does anyone know rough prices of cigarettes and alcohol in Croatia?
2 - I've heard that Trogir is very boring of a night time is this correct? If so how easy would it be for me to travel to other parts of the country that are more lively and preferably close by as do not want to spend to much on travel?
3- Which options do I have if I want to travel into Split from Trogir of a night time, is it only taxis or are there other ways and how much time will I spend travelling to Split from Trogir and what will the costs roughly be of travelling?
4- I've heard that there are no beaches in Trogir or swimming pools, is this true? if so what are the closest beaches that have a good atmosphere and are sandy?
And finally I have been told that Ciovo is close by, is there any good night life in Ciovo or nice beaches?
Thank you to anyone who can answer my questions!! As starting to worry that I'm going to have an awful holiday:(

We are going to spend 3 weeks in Croatia this summer, and we want to rent a car. Best if we could keep in for the whole period, if it won't be too expencive...
Can you reccomend that we book one from home, or can we make a better deal when we arrive in Split?
we found good price on splitcarhire.com
did some one book from this avax company?
We are going to visit Hvar and would lioke to see Blue Grotto. Does anyone know what the best way to reach Bisevo from Jelsa or other town from Hvar is?
Thank you in advance.
Going to Split next week for a family wedding, and we (my wife and I) want to make sure we see as much as we can besides the Old Town and the palace in the added 3 days we will be there.
Hi, sorry if this is inappropriate for these forums, I'm just really struggling to figure out how to do this. I'm trying to get from Geneva to Hvar on July 17th, but if it's not possible then on the 18th. I can't leave until after 12 due to class. Could anyone give me suggestions? I would be down to either fly to Split or to Dubrovnik and take a ferry from there. Just so far the flights I've found last over 24 hours and are just impractical. Also if need be I can spend a night in Split or Dubrovnik and take a ferry the next day if I can't get there in time to make the ferry on Thursday. Once again sorry to be asking something so specific as travel itinerary, but I've been searching a lot and haven't had much luck. Thanks for any and all the help!
