Winter in Collioure

by n2j2 Online Now May 20, 2011 at 7:26 PM

We are looking for somewhere to stay in France from January to end of february or March. We will be traveling to Midi-pyrenees for Spring but would like to find somewhere a little warmer (dryer) for the end of the winter. Our biggest concern is that we are not in a tourist area that would be dead during the winter.

We have holidayed in Collioure in early spring; our "earliest" visit was 2-17 March and also exactly one month later the following year. On both occasions we had dry, warm and sunny weather, no crowds but fewer restaurants open than later in the season.
We were there one year at Easter and had a taste of how busy and crowded it may become in summer.
Collioure is one of my favourite winter destinations but is certainly best enjoyed in low season.
Unfortunately no guarantees can be given about the weather though.
