A good restaurant with 'menu of the day' in Barcelona

      Barcelona 51 minutes ago

I am going to Barcelona from 12 till 16 November, staying at the Hotel Ibis Sagrada Familia, and I am looking for a typical restaurant that serves 'menu del dia'. I found a tapas bar around the corner 'Chiqui'. Has anoyne been there ?. So no 5 star tourist restaurant.Just a restaurant where the locals come. And I do like fish. No problem to take a bus or metro to the other side of the city....

Next week I'll be heading to spain for a hiking trip. were planing to hike a 5 days trek on the gr 11 trail . I don't have much experience with hiking this time of the year, so perhaps some people here can help me answer some of the following questions:

      - Are the winter rooms in the huts open? how do i contact the operators?
      - If so, what is provided in the winter rooms (matress, blankets?) and what is the procedure? Do I need to get a key, where and how do I need to pay? is there a fireplace or a posibilty of lighting fire inside the huts?
      - Does anybody know about the current conditions? Is there already a lot of snow (compared to other years)? What is a good place on the web to find out about local conditions?

Any further general tips from experienced people are always welcome. Many thanks in advance!

Where is the nearest place on non-metered parking near the cathedral please - we parked a 20 minute walk on the outskirts of town by the metro down from the Alcatraz and saw one large church but not the cathedral and missed out on a lot of the barrie gothic

When we were walking down from the large church keeping straight we went into a large shop selling shawls and beautiful fans - they gave me a dark green carrier bag - my friend is into salsa/tango dancing and I would like to get some reasonably priced fans - any suggestions please

Really looking forward to going back to this lovely city - planning to go Mid Nov Many thanks

Gran canria with a 1 yo

      Canary Islands 7 hours ago

      Hello everybody.
My husband and I are planning to spend 7 days in Gran Canaria by the end of November, beginning of December. We are travelling with our daughter who will be almost 13 months by then.
We are trying to figure out which would be the best family-friendly area to stay with a baby. All tips are welcome and also some recommendations for accommodation (we'd rather stay in an aparthotel or in an apartment with cooking facilities and living-area... can't imagine one week in one bedroom with 13 months baby!)
We'd love to be in an area with restaurants and some activity but we are not looking for the busiest part in the island with night life and very touristy places.... Although all island must be very toutisty I'm afriad.
On the other hand, we'd love to be able to walk to a beach nice for babies and not have to jump into a car all the time. We will consider renting a car to visit the island. Any tips on this? What to do with a baby besides the beach?
Thank you in advance to you all!

      Data SIM Card in Lanzarote

Isla de Lanzarote Oct 18, 2016 at 7:34 AM

Does anybody know of what deals exist to buy a Data SIM card in Lanzarote?

I am hoping to buy a 2 GB data SIM card for my unlocked MiFi device, and when it runs out, to buy a new one.

Just in case coverage of the different networks vary by location, I will be mainly using this in Costa Teguise.

      Any advice appreciated.

    • Suggestions for day trips from Seville

      Sevilla Oct 25, 2016 at 3:55 AM

I will be in Seville in mid March. I will be there for 7 days and am seeking suggestions for 3 day trips. Not Granada, not Cordoba. I was thinking of the Aracena Cave, a white village or two and ...... This will be with public transportation. I read that Ronda is a complicated full day trip and for that time maybe somewhere else is better.
      Suggestions are welcome.

      29 June 2013 - Big Party?

by Nijntje1973 Online Now May 29, 2013 at 3:44 PM

Hola! I am planning to travel to Burgos for one night on 29 June. I will be arriving in Madrid that morning and will take a bus. My colleague, who is from Burgos, told me there will be big party this week (San Pedro y San Pablo?) Could you please tell me how I can find all this festivities? Obviously I would like to see as much sight as possible as I know Burgos is beautiful, but I don't want to miss party either! Please let me know where I can get more information on this. I would love to enjoy this event with the locals!

Also, I have been trying to surf couch but a lot of people are away at the time. Is there any cheap accommodation like hostel in the town centre? I have been searching but only seems to have hotels. I will only be there for a night so just need somewhere near to put my feet up for a few hours. I will be out most of the day/evening. All suggestions welcome!

      Gracias! :)

      Policy on non commercial photo

by Oleg_D. Online Now Mar 25, 2012 at 1:33 AM

      Dear Members,

First of all, thank you for your reviews on the Burgos Cathedral, Monasteries and Museums. Good job!

Unfortunately, nobody said a single word about the policies on photography in those places of interests. I’m very interested to know are the visitors allowed to take noncommercial photos without flash light and tripod in the Cathedral, Monastery of Las Huelgas, Cartuja De Miraflores, and Museum of Altarpieces in the Saint Esteban Church and so on.

Unfortunately many official internet sites don’t provide that information.

Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation.

      Advice and Information

by PaulKirk Online Now Jun 8, 2006 at 12:33 PM

Any advice and information on where to walk from Burgos. The heights above the town seem a good bet but what's up there and where do the paths go from there? Is there a village we can walk to within 10 miles of Burgos that's worth a visit? I've checked out the Burgos sites and other websites but any not to be missed places in town would be nice to know. Tapas bars and siderias are popular rather than churches or museums. A decent bar in an old square sounds good so please tell me where they are? Don't bother to tell me where Fcdonalds is. I don't go there. Cheers.

Hello my dear friends, I have just found out in this magazine (DeViajes) that there is this hiking excursion planned for this weekend in BURGOS. It costs 100€, includes the trip by bus, the lodging in a 3 star hotel in Medina de Pomar, half pension, a guide, and insurance. It is organized by HACIENDO HUELLA (953-04-41). I have not called yet, but I am interested in going. Would anybody else like to join me? Since it is this coming weekend, I would like to know ASAP if you would like to go. Looking forward to seeing you soon, zuzu
