    • Trip to Northern territory at Feburary.

      Australia Dec 26, 2016 at 5:25 PM

Hi. I'm planning a trip to the Northern territory in January 30 to Feburary 13. I heard that this is a summer season in Australia, and extremely warm. I try to endure the high temperatures, but what I really worried about is rain, and cloud, and activity restriction.

      so my question is,
      1. During this period, will rains and clouds make me unable to see sunrise, sunset and the night sky in red center?
      2. There is a high possibility that activities (trekking at kings canyon, Uluru, kata Tjuta, etc.) will be prohibited?

      Which campground

by worldtrekker Online Now May 10, 2014 at 10:54 PM

I'll be in Broome towards the end of September for 1 night and am finding it a bit challenging to decide on which campground is best. Does anyone have an opinion? Looking for a nice tent site, clean facilities, and safe (seems break-ins are common). I stayed at Roebuck in 1999 and I remember talk of thefts from vehicles even back then, although we had no trouble the 3 nights we stayed. I don't remember it, but I wrote that it was a nice spot in my journal. Also looking at Tarangau, Palm Grove Holiday Resort, and Broome Caravan Park... It would probably be good too, if they take reservations for tent sites. Thanks!

    • 10 days in the Kimberley?

by Online Now May 5, 2014 at 1:04 AM

I have 10 days to spend somewhere in Oz this Aug 2014 and have picked the Kimberley. My husband and I shall be going with our 25yr old daughter. I am thinking we wd land in Darwin and fly to Broome (Brits coming from Singapore). Or wd we be better just entering from Darwin? We all love driving esp my husband who is very experienced, but don't want to waste too much time just getting to the K. Will we have time to see enough of the outback country once we are there? Which wd be the best route in? Wd prefer the Gibb River Rd route. We want a real experience and don't want to go with a tour group tho it would be fun to meet up with others in the evenings. Do we need to plan well ahead with booking accom etc or can we just pitch up in 4WD? What about food/cooking etc. Do we need to buy everything in Broome/Darwin for the whole duration? Yr advice would be hugely appreciated as I am a complete rookie in OZ - my first trip over. Very excited! Rachel

Any suggestions on a local tour guide or tour company that does day tours of Broome. Some friends and I are coming to Broome on a cruise ship and interested in doing a shore excursion for 4people. If needed, could probably get 12-15 people. Thanks. Sue

      Broome Trip

by aYankinSyd Online Now May 29, 2008 at 3:26 AM

Can anybody advise about the mysterious Broome? I've always wanted to go, as it seems like a pretty off-the-beaten-track destination... What's the highlight to see/do?

Flights are always outrageously expensive...when is a good time of the year to get a good price?

      Many thanks in advance; Mike

    • Getting to Cairns

by carostev Online Now Jul 4, 2007 at 2:50 PM

We are travelling to Australia in December 2007, flying into Perth. We will drive to Broome from Perth but then would like to get to Cairns from Broome. We are finding it impossible to get a flight and cannot find any other means of transport between Broome and Cairns. We don't really want to drive from Broome to Cairns.
Can you please make some suggestions?

      Many thanks

      Broome in February

by lovinoz Online Now Dec 20, 2005 at 6:48 PM

We have been dying to go to Broome for eons and found a deal that is only valid for February. Should we bother going then, considering how incredibly hot and humid it will be? Can we expect daily rain or thunderstorms? I do not mind thunderstorms, but I get annoyed with just plain rain. :) How hot is it likely to be? Is it similar weather to Cairns in March?

If we go, we are thinking of finding some inexpensive accommodation for the first 6 nights, then stay at the Cable Beach Resort for the last two nights. Does this sounds like a good plan and does anyone have recommendations for where to stay for the first 6 nights?

We might want to camp for a night or two up near the lighthouse norther of Broome (can't think of the name of the place at the moment). Any suggestions for where to camp?

We might hire a 4WD for two days - if so, can anyone recommend which rental place does the best deal?

Thank you! :) Happy Holidays to everyone!!

Is two weeks in Broome enough??

by Larnie Online Now Nov 8, 2005 at 9:04 PM

I am planning a trip to Broome and while I am klnow a good answer is - "no time is long enough" I am just wondering if 2 weeks will give us time to venture outwards from Broome ie Bungle Bungles etc and not be rushed.
Also, planning for first week of April. Any ideas of whether the weather (ha!) will be any good?????
