Is it possible to be driven along the 15km tourist route of Cap Canaille ? If so, how can this be arranged and how much is the approximate cost?
      Thank you

    • Baby Store in Vasion-la-Romaine

      France Jun 26, 2016 at 9:19 AM

Does anyone know the name of the baby store in Vaison-la-Romain that carries the beautifully soft, pastel-colored stuffed dolls and toys? It is on the right-hand side of the street as you walk up toward the old city and away from the market. We bought a doll there for our granddaughter and it was lost in the mail.

    • Euros finale

      Paris Jun 25, 2016 at 8:26 AM

We are 7 students from the Netherlands and we are visiting Lalobbe, a small village near Rethel, in a few weeks.
We arrive the 9th of July, and we are interested in visiting Paris 10 July (when the Euros final is played).
We want to watch the final on a big screen or in a bar, but we face a few difficulties.
First we like to know what the best way is to visit Paris. Is it possible to drive , and park there, since its a very crowded day? ( having to walk about an hour to the car is not a problem).
Secondly, if we take the train from Reims to Paris, is it possible to get back to Reims before the morning?
If we can't reach Reims before the morning, are there some good clubs or bars open till late in the night so we can party there? And are those clubs expensive to get in to?

      Parking around Nice

      Nice Jun 23, 2016 at 1:16 PM

We are staying in the Alpes Maritimes but would like to make a couple of day trips to Nice during our stay. I see that there are park and ride type car parks but I have looked at the website and I am an idiot when it comes to these things so I cannot figure out where the car parks are! If I am traveling down the Blvd du Mercantour, where is the best place to park and get a bus in to the city centre (say, Promenade des Anglais)?

      Many thanks

    • RER to CDG or Shuttle service

      France Jul 17, 2016 at 10:04 AM

Have been to Paris previously. This trip my hotel is near Odeon metro stop & St. Germaine. I took RER to CDG last time and had no delay and service was good. Is it easy to get to RER from this location? Hotel is Grand deBalcons. Or, is a shuttle service better choice, and not too expensive. If I can get picked up at hotel would consider shuttle. Need to get there for A/F flight to Copenhagen leaving 1:40pm on a Saturday. Think I got RER last time from GareduNord so RER might be fastest service. Thank you to all for assistance.

    • RER E train At St Lazare

      Paris Jul 10, 2016 at 9:55 PM

Hi. I would like to take the RER E train to Gard Nord. Does anyone know where the entrance to RER E is at St Lazare? Is it in St Lazare Station or is it on Haussmann Blvd? The reason I am asking is that coming from Gard Nord to St Lazare, you have to walk from Blvd Haussmann (where the RER leaves you) to St Lazare Station.

    • SIM data-sms France/Ireland + UK 44 days back/forth

      Paris Jun 23, 2016 at 2:05 PM

Hello I need urgent SIM advice !

I need a mobile / sim to work for data/emails/skype for the next 44 days before heading back to Australia = important also for airline updates, Bla bla car, UBER etc bookings ....

Starting now - I am in: France (next 5 days) - Wales (UK) (4 days) - France (3 days) - Ireland (EU) 9 days - UK (16 days) - Ireland (EU) 7 days = 44 days in total = 24 days in France/Ireland (EU) + 20 days in UK - mixed up together.... I have been trying to understand what to do...

Do I get an ORANGE SIM here in France for 44 days = 2 months - and pay extra for UK  service + data ? ( but have heard ORANGE are notoriously bad to deal in France re:  shop customer service, (especially with my minimal french language skills...)

      All advice is very welcome.

I was hoping to get it tomorrow if possible (Paris) - if there is suitable plan (easy to cancel after 2 months,  with not expensive data use in UK and Ireland (EU) also ) - or should I wait and get one (which one -  suggestions ?) in UK in 5 days time (Cardiff) ? and get EU data  as an 'extra' on that deal (and work  until UK from free wifi spots  in France  ?) help ! - thanks

      Quirky restaurant

      Nice Jul 10, 2016 at 10:48 AM

Years ago we ate in a restaurant in Nice that was owned by an elderly woman and her sister or daughter (can't quite remember). It was in the old town and it was very basic, I don't think there was even a menu, you just ate what you were served. It was all local, homemade food. Can anyone tell me the name of the restaurant and whether or not it's still there?

    • NAVIGO card query - which plan + start-end dates/activation - etc

      France Jun 23, 2016 at 2:52 PM

Hello I have this schedule below starting tomorrow: and am wondering if I should get a navigo card for one week ? or two ? weeks = for 2-4 metro/bus trips a day here, plus when I am going to or from CDG = three times soon, instead of using my CARNET single tickets + 10 euro each way CDG tickets that I've been doing. But ... I am unsure how /when a navigo card activates /start dates, etc, best value plan etc. I am staying near St Paul metro, 75004.

The dates/days I have remaining in Paris are:

(DAY 1) Fri 24 June (tomorrow) Paris + (DAY 2) Sat 25 June Paris + (DAY 3) Sun 26 June Paris am + (DAY 4) Mon 27 June Paris pm

      + (DAY 5) Tues 28 June St Paul metro to CDG airport (to UK)  + (DAY 6 = in UK) 29 June  + (DAY 7 in = UK) 30 June  + (DAY  8 in = UK) 1 July +

(DAY 9 Paris) 2 July CDG to St Paul / Paris (from UK) + (DAY  10 Paris) 3 July +  (DAY  11 Paris) 4 July  + (DAY  12 Paris) 5 July metro from St Paul metro am to CGD (=  final trip leave France )

= 9 days left  in Paris  (  3  days in the middle  will be   in the UK  =   adding up to 12 days left   overall = with  3 out of France ) Plus   3 one way trips to or from CDG airport  to factor into determining the best ticketing  method.

Sorry I know this is confusing - but any advice on whether a navigo is worth it / and which option - would be very  helpful. I've tried to understand it - but the start days/dates and week/month options  are confusing me!

    • Need to send 2 big boxes (c60 x 50 x 40 cm, 10-15kg each) Paris to Australia : options?

      Paris Jul 2, 2016 at 12:36 PM

      I'd like to sending/freight 2 boxes (c60 x 50 x 40 cm, 10-15kg each) : Paris to Tasmania, Australia - looking for options.
La Poste has a 7kg box, (55 euros) airmail only option - but they are small boxes.
      I don't mind sea freight.
Can anyone recommend what to do ? I'd need to drop them off or get them collected on afternoon of 4 July !
I don't have the boxes yet either...
I'm in the Marais (75004) - near St Paul metro.
Thanks a lot for any advice
