      Amsterdam Jan 8, 2017 at 4:25 AM

      Hi Everyone,

I would like to ask if there's any Halal food near NH city centre hotel in Amsterdam? Like really really near the hotel.

Also, is NC city centre very far from Damrak? And are there halal food in damrak?

Thanks in advance for all answers.

      hotel location

      Amsterdam 6 hours ago

I hadn't intended to ask this question quite yet, but I am thinking of flying into Amsterdam in 2018 and staying there a couple of days to see the city and get over jet lag before we fly to Kilimanjaro for a safari. I will be with my granddaughter who is a tiny little girl. I am currently using a scooter to get around, but I don't think my granddaughter will be able to pick up the scooter which weighs about 60 lbs. I can walk a short distance, but I cannot stand for more than about a minute without back pain and once my back starts to hurt I am finished for the day. That means that even standing in an elevator can be a problem.

I don't think that a scooter will be useful on safari and I am hoping that I can get along with just a cane that I can sit on. We will have a car and driver so most of my walking will be in the safari camps. I think I can do from the car to the room and from the room to dinner.

Also I thought we would take the hopon-hopoff canal boat trip and I don't think the scooter will be that useful there and I would be using the cane. The problem would come in getting to and from the canal boat.

Is there a hotel where I could stay there and then leave the scooter in storage while we go on the safari? Or is there any kind of rental place where I could rent one when i got there? I have stayed at a hotel where they had a wheelchair, but Bob had to push and I don't think my granddaughter will have enough mass to be able to wrangle me in a wheelchair (her two siblings also had a problem with this).

And what would be the best hotel/location to be able to see Amsterdam. Are there hotels with airport pick-up?

Do you have any other suggestions

In Het Loo Palace I saw an equestrian painting, and I have been unable to find out any information on who painted it or who the subject was.

There is a company in south Alpeldoorn that has great food delivered by many vans.
I thought the name has "Menu" in it. Does anyone know the name of that food catering service?

    • Sunday bar to sit and drink in with your kids along too.

by andykillen Online Now Jul 28, 2013 at 7:16 AM

I'm looking for a bar that is walking distance (up to 40 mins) from the town center of Apeldoorn which has as many of the following things as possible:
      - open on Sundays
      - nice beer garden / seating next to water
      - Child friendly
      - Finger food/tapas
      - Games room with typical things such as pool, darts and other pub games

Basically I'm looking to take the family out but not have to use a car, and be in an environment where it is nice and relaxed.

      Apeldoorn historic question: Apeldoorn Bosch

by myrioz Online Now Nov 12, 2008 at 3:06 AM

I'm hoping to visit the old Apeldoorn Bosch while I'm in the netherlands as part of a research project, only problem is I can't seem to get an answer about where exactly it is, for example, what road it is on, and what route I would take from Apeldoorn train station to get there... I have found that it is still in use these days by Heeren Loo.
Any advice about where I would go to find these historical buildings would be greatly appreciated.

    • Visiting Het Loo and the Kroller-Muller Museum

by WallarooJill Online Now Aug 28, 2007 at 8:20 PM

We have booked a river trip from Amsterdam to Buderpest next year. We would like to arrive 2 or 3 days prior to departure from Amsterdam and visit the Kroller-Muller Museum and Het Loo. Once in Apeldoorn both destinations seem achievable by bike. My question how to we get from Amsterdam to Apeldoorn? I'm not keen on the idear of hiring a car. Is there a bus or train connection and if so where would they depart from?

Is there a tour from the town to the palace? We will be travelling by train, and it looks like the palace is a way out from Apeldoorn.
