Hi what is best way to roam around Lubango, where can you get car hire. How much would it cost?
In the past eight months, I have had TWO trips planned (itinerary, reservations, et al.) to Angola but both had to be cancelled because I did not receive the "required invitations" in time to get a visa. Do any of you have any tips on how to get those invitation letters in a timely manner, or how to get a visa without invitations?
I have a few questions
1/ What is the best way to travel from Airport into Luanda?
2/ Should one rent a car and deiver on a daily basis or is there good taxi services
3/ Which is the best area for hoyels and restaurants
Questions for expatriates from Americans or Canadians. When you ship your household goods (clothing, furniture, small appliances) in the sea going container, is there any restriction of shipping food? (cereal, maple syrup, sauce, rice, pasta, milk powder, cake mix, bread mix, sugar, wheat flour,...)? was it absolutely forbidden? or you take your chance of a penalty fine? Or it got found out and confiscated?

We plan to arrive in Luanda on 21 October 2009. We need an invitation. Could a member from angola send us the required invitation by e-mail in order to obtain visa from the Angolian consulate in Belgium.
We are now in Belgium and are flying to Ghana on 1 September.
We would be very grateful to receive the invitation urgently.
Thanks in advance.

Hello I will be spending over two weeks in Bengo (based in Caxita) and I would love to hear about the current situation there: is it safe? how is the food? what to eat and what to avoid (to avoid upsetting stomach)? is malaria widespread over there? are there many mosquitos/dangerous flies etc? what is worth seeing there? Are there big temperature changes from day to night? I would really appreciate any advice from people who live or recently travelled there. Many thanks in advance.

I will be in Johannesburg the first part of March, but my real destination is Luanda. Airfare is absurd, plus i'm not sure how long i will be staying. Probably more than six months, and i'm sure i might be asked to show a return ticket, which would be difficult or impossible to change later. Any chance of there being bus or rail travel from a neighboring country? Cheers, Mike
