Using Skype and Viber in France

Has anyone used Skype or Viber in France to call Australia? Do they work? How easy/difficult are they to use? I have a Samsung GalaxyS for Viber and a laptop for Skype

Skype doesn't care where you are calling from or too. All it needs is a connection with sufficient bandwidth to carry the call. We Skyped home to Canada frequently when we were in Paris a couple of years back.
