Travel page

by leffe3 Online Now Jul 14, 2012 at 6:28 PM

On my main travel map page, under the map where the bar states the areas of the world and number of pages(ie N.America, Europe, Africa etc), my Middle East link is missing along with the number of pages (20). Any ideas?

same thing with me: on the Vt-maps of people who have been to more than 6 "VT-continents" only the 6 with the most content of them are shown and the others are shown only when you set the size of the letters very small.

This is strange and must be a glitch!! I remember that there was once a little horizontal scroll bar which enabled to look at/ open all the tabs per continent!

The little bar is still there. It's just not big enough to include all the tabs per region for those who have travelled more extensively than I.

When I go to your travel pages and in IE changed the text font to smallest I get: Travel Pages (226)N. America (23)Europe (89)Africa (20)Asia (20)C. America (6)Oceania (48)M. East (20) It's a matter of text sizing. PJ

So size counts, huh? But how many people set it to the smallest font size? And if the font has to be small to see all continents, can you even read the list of pages at the bottom of the page?

PJ, it cannot be just a matter of text sizing or computer settings alone. I could see the tabs + the little scrollbar in the past. Now I cannot see it (on @leffe3's and @Globetrott's travel pages) - and I didn't change any settings or text sizing since approx. 1000 years. Strange enough: on Erik's (@Odinnthor's) travel pages: Odinnthor's Travel Map there is a tiny tiny rectangle at the very right, white background. When I click on that, I get his Australia page. In his case, except for North America, the amount of travel pages he made per continent is 10. Similar for @WanderingCamel: TheWanderingCamel's Travel Map The rectangle is tinier and leads to her Middle East pages. She has travel pages 10 for South Americ and Asia. @Leffe and @Globetrott have travel pages > 10 for all continents. That seems to be the reason for the inaccessibility = invisibility of the last continents. => the more travel pages per continent 10, the higher the probabbility to see all continent tabs, => the more travel pages > 10 the lower this probability. => must be a glitch I'd say I have an old fashioned monitor, not one of the broader ones.

Just for the records: have looked at @leffe3's and @Globetrott's travel pages from another computer with a broader monitor and IE8: same situation: no further continents shown either, also when I am on full width display. (My longer post above was referring to the old narrow monitor and Firefox 13).

What I mean is that the location of the tabs are relative to the text size used inside of these tabs at display. What VT should do is to change the code in such a way, that the position of the tabs is independent of that. So, if one needs 8 tabs; 8 tabs should be displayed and the text inside can be wrapped around or being shrinked at the program side; not at the displaying side. PJ

Sorry Michael - I didn't see your earlier posting, so apologies. But if 2 postings in a week about the same issue elicit a response.... :)
