I'm sure I read something recently from G saying that all new tips would not suffer in future from the problem where an apostrophe in the caption caused a break in that caption - but I can't now find the thread. But I can confirm it IS still happening. I just wrote this tip: "Watch where you park – especially on market day!" - Gubbio Warnings Or Dangers Tip by toonsarah When I went back a short while later one of the captions was broken. I have left it like that so others can see what I mean. Is anyone else still experiencing this problem or is it just me now?!!
Yes, it's still a problem, Sarah - had to go back in and take them out of a photo caption earlier this week.

Oh... haha, *that* tip!!! :-) I think I will still remember this when I am 109,5 years old and decaying in the mountains :-)

Hi...sorry I don't see the broken caption...I see a caption that says "Read the sign!"

It is the second photo, G, which is titled: "Yes, it" the rest is missing.

Exactly so Ingrid - it should say "Yes it's market day"

Hmmm. I just built this page: members.virtualtourist.com/m... The apostrophe works...let's see if we can figure this out.

Are you by chance, cut and pasting from word into the caption?

No - I do that for the tip itself but the captions I write direct. And it happens every time, not just here. The Italian saints (Sant' Ubaldo for instance) have been driving me mad - every time I edit the tip I have to remember to rewrite the captions, and so often I don't!

OK. I figured it out :0( What happens is the first photo is ok. Then when you go back and add another photo, you'll see in the tip editor that the text is already gone before you upload the second photo. Then when you upload, it's gone. If you added the apostrophe in the first photo when you're uploading the second it works. Long story short...now we have winkled out the issue and we'll put in a bug fix. We got it on the first upload, but not second :)

It's any sort of "going back"! I've been uploading all the photos at once, but I do quite often go back to edit the main teext - I spot a typo, or realise I missed a bit of formatting and it's ended up almost all in italics or something. Even if I do nothing further with the photos, the caption has already broken. If you can indeed come up with a fix for this, I will be very happy :-)
