Hello I've tried trawling through google, apple and iphone forums but don't really understand what they're saying. Does anyone know a good, simple dummy user guide, faq site for iPhones? Or perhaps any VT iPhone owners may be able to help..... 1. I keep getting a red dot on the phone icon showing me I have a new voicemail when I don't. I do have 2 saved messages but I've listened to them both. Does anyone know how I get rid of the dot? 2. Does anyone know what visual voicemail is? Having my data on (I usually use wifi) seems to affect it. 3. I only get voicemail messages when my data is turned on, related to 2.?, is there a way to get messages another way? 4. Also my partner has an iPad and iPhone and my messages seem to be split on my iphone into a thread from the iPad and a thread from the iPhone (I only discovered this when I tried to reply without data on and it wouldn't turn from blue to green). How do I know which I'm talking to when I have my data on? If I reply to the thread from his iPad does it just get sent to his iPad? Thank you.
There actually is a book ou called "iPhone for Dummies" similar to all the other "dummies" books published. Something hass me wondering about your comments as they don't seem to correspond with how my iPhone works at all. Are you using the standard applications? Have you tried resetting the phone? First with just turning it completely off (both buttons plus the finger slide to confirm turn off) and in worst case complete reset using the settings reset. I've not heard of an iPhone visual voicemail, but Vonage has that facility. Are you using another phone servive besides the normal iPone provider (AT&T or Verison). Messages should go to both devices.

Hi Thanks for your reply. I'm using it in the UK on an 02 contract. I've had problems in the past and restored it to factory settings. I've not upgraded it to iOS6 yet but these problems have been happening well before the upgrade was due. I'll hopefully be near an Apple shop this weekend so will back it up and see what they say.
