I wondered if in future it's going to be any easier to move a tip? I wanted to move a tip from one category (things to do) to another (off the beaten track) within the same city but it just created a travalogue instead and I can't see a way of reversing what I've just done. I'd have thought that 'move to another page' would give you an option of where to put it but it doesn't at all or not that I can see. Am I missing something? Thanks
We can't move tips to another 'category' because the template for each category is different. You will have to rebuild the tip.

That's a shame but I can see how it can't be done now you say about the difficulty of the different criteria that would need to be transfered. Thanks Kiwi. Perhaps something in FAQs may be useful? If it is indeed a FAQ....

It's already in "Help" section :-) Adding Your Own Pages and Tips 17. Can I Move A Tip To Another Type Within the Same Page? Like Make a Must See Activity into an Off the Beaten Path? You cannot make on type of tip into another type of tip. That's because the tip templates are different one from the other. The easiest thing to do is to simply open up another brower window and cut and paste the old tip into a new template.

Doh! I just saw the 1-16 FAQs and assumed that was it. The help bar at the top didn't jump out at me in the slightest. I'll pay better attention :-)

To undo what you have done and do what you want to do: 1. Go to the Travelogue where your tip is now. 2. Copy and paste all your text in your favourite processor and save it. 3. Delete the travelogue. 4. Go to the Tip page (the category you wanted to move your Tip to, 'Off the Beaten track'. 5. Copy and paste from your word processor to the Tip page, 'Off the Beaten track'.

Useful, idiot-friendly instructions Anil (just the way I like/need them!). Will that preserve any hyperlinks that may be included?

Yes they will, Cathy, in a regular word processor like Microsoft Word or WordPerfect or something similar. If you paste it in the Notepad of Windows and save it, say 'Yes' when Notepad prompts you whether to preserve the formatting (your hyperlinks) in Rich Text Format. In the default ASCII format of Notepad, the formatting (hyperlinks) may be lost.

Great - I have a couple of proposed itineraries that are getting 'lost' among the 'Things to do' tips on a few of my larger pages that I would like to move'to somewhere more visible. Will give it a try.

You will still have to build the separate sections of the new tip (with the copied text). And reload photos to the tip. However your photos will already be in your photo library there for you to use. So you don't have to relocate the photos in your computer like we used to have to do .
