Has anyone worked out how to add photos from the "All Photos" folder to separate folders? Or can you only do that by uploading them again. I have many photos loaded on VT prior to us having the Photo Library and they are unsorted. I have, however, found out how to sort them by location list. But wondered how to folder them.
Bookmark as I'm curios also

Just to be clear, are you trying to add photos "to" the All Photos and create a folder in All Photos in order to organize the photos?

Have you tried: click on My Home, then Photos, then Photo Library, then Add Folder? It seems to work for me.

Not trying to add photos to All Photos. But as you will appreciate most of my photos were uploaded before we had folders, so they all ended up in AllPhotos. I just wanted to put some of these into folders. I can however sort them by locations that they are on (my pages), but kinda wanted to have them in library folders. I know the photos I have loaded since we got the library, I can move from folder to folder. But can't from AllPhotos.

If you select a photo in All Photos you can Move it to a folder that you have previousl created in the Photo Library. I find it a bit of a pain right now as it's not drag 'n drop and the photo you just moved to a folder seems to remain in All Photos but if you look at the URL it says it's in the folder (DUH). Might take a bit of effort for me to relearn how to move photos.

I KNOW that you are not going to believe me, but that Move button wasn't there yesterday!!!!!!! I must have been viewing photos uploaded since the revamp, because I saw a Delete button but not a Move button. I tried several times. I realise if the photo is used there comes up a warning that you cannot delete it. BUT I swear the Move button wasn't there. I reakon the tech gnomes saw my post and quickly fixed it LOL ;-) Thanks for you time Al, sorry to waste it !!

LMAO ROTFL... I actually never even tried it until I saw your post so perhaps I was in the right place (currently southern Baja) at the right time (not so as it's more humdid than I like). Hopefully it works for you but I find it a bit cumbersome.

It annoyed me so much that I had to find out what I did wrong. OK once I opened AllPHotos, I clicked on "Edit Folder" and selected the photos in that mode. Well I shouldn't have done that!! Too efficient for my own good!!

I agree the move button was not there before. When the bulk uploader started, I asked about uploading sub directories and creating them, perhaps things have started to move forward ?????

Hey Steve, hows it going? I thought we could have folders right away, but I may be wrong, because I've already proven myself wrong already on this point LOL ;-)

Going well Pam I wanted sub directory access as my photos are stored per trip here, and then per day underneath so that they are in chronological order. It would be great to have that facility on VT

It would also be useful if you stored by country, then by city underneath

Steve are you referring to what people can view in our photo library? Rather than what we view of our own library. Because I can sort my photos in country/town order depending on what page they are loaded on.

If I got to your home page Pam, all I get to see is "photos" which I assume is "All Photos". I don't see any folders. I just created one on my HP called Loreto so I could start to categorize. It will be interesting to see how this works out.

yes I realise that, but I can see my own folders - you can't :-)) You can only see YOUR folders .

I can create folders ok but not sub folders, that's what would be great

Maybe you can have photos in more than one folder? I'll try ..

Nope that didn't work :-(

Why put them in separate folders now when you can view them location-wise?
Be the first to rate this answer!
Because we can have folders :-) I mean why give us folders if we can sort them location wise ...

Perhaps, folders are for those who are just about uploading their photos onto VT, or those who do not have too many photos, or those who have too much time and patience :--))

I am having a terrible time with the photo folders. Yesterday I uploaded a whole bunch (about 200) of photos that I had scanned to a folder called Costa Rica. First it got stuck almost all the way through and wouldn't load anymore. Then when I loaded the rest of them this morning, I can't see but about 50 of them at once and there seems to be no way to get to the other photos. If I sort a different way (all photos or by date uploaded or by photo name), I can see that the photos are there - I just can't get to all of them or see all of them at once. Most of the time, there's a link at the bottom of a page of photos which allows you to see the next section. I don't see that link. Is there one?

In my folders with more than 100 pics, there is a link at the bottom to view more photos, and it is not a 'second' page, but rather adds to the page you are already viewing. Sometimes you don't realise that more photos have added.

Yes when you are just looking at your photos in the folders in the library there is a link to go to the next page. But when you are selecting photos for the tips, that link is gone. Moreover the top of the window is up above the top of the page so I can't get to it to move it and see if there is a link at the top. When I try to move the page around, it either disappears or adds a photo that I don't want. And the thumbnails are so small that I can't see what is in them unless I have the original photos in another window on my computer and there is no way to browse them when I am writing a tip.
