There are now various options for displaying your birthday on VT, including "Show my month and day to friends" and "Do not show my birthday". And they work! Thanks to the VT staff for this improvement!

In the Profile Information Page (Profile Page->Edit Profile->Profile Information), under the 'Show Your Birthday' tab, you now have the following options: Show my full birthday to All VT members Show month & date to All VT members Show my full birthday to Friends Show month & date to Friends Do not show my birthday

Well I don't like it at all - as far as I am concerned they might as well not have bothered. It does not do what I asked for years ago. I do not need birthday wishes on my birthday, but I **DO** want people to know my age. I know I am not alone in this. I see no difference between showing the month and day to friends or to everyone - if I don't want birthday notices going out to anyone, I have to pick that my birthday is not shown to anyone. There is no way to have the year show without the month and day. I have finally put it on my profile page, but that's less visible.
